I made bagels! 🥯 I don’t even believe that I made them! I always wanting to make them but it seems so difficult to make bagels but honestly so easy I mean not super easy but you can do it 😄 I have to say with the @kitchenaid_uk it is much easier, it makes the dough super quick.
To make around 10 bagels you will need:
3 cups of bread flour
1 cup of tapioca flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 cup and 1/2 warm water
1 tsp sea salt
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 cup of the liquid that is coming on the chickpeas (Aquafaba)
1/2 cup of seeds like chia seeds, sesame seeds, your favorite ones!
To make the 🥯 :
I mixed at medium speed in the kitchen aid the flour, tapioca, baking powder, salt, vinegar, maple syrup and water for around 3 minutes until the dough is even.
Cover the dough for an hour at room temperature so it will be fluffy on the inside 👍🏻
After an hour, boil water in a big size casserole.
Whilst you are waiting for the water, divide the dough on 10 pieces, make a round shape and with your finger you can make the bagel shape 😆
Once the water is boiling pour 3 bagels, and boil them for 2 minutes, the bagels shouldn’t touch each other.
The idea behind this, when you boil the bagels with maple syrup and vinegar you are cooking the outside and also it will make your bagels shiny and crunchy!
When you are done, cook the bagels in the oven for 15 minutes, then, with the brush add some aquafaba and sprinkle seeds on top.
Cook for another 10 minutes at 180C.
I really love my kitchen aid it makes everything so easy! Also the colour is super cute!
