It’s all just a reflection now.
The completed manuscript, photos and maps for “The Best Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument Hikes” are submitted.
Just about everyone keeps asking if I’m relieved? But I always viewed this project as a joy not a burden.
Like getting through an obstacle lined slot canyon there was never a possibility of retreat. The challenges are exactly why you seek out narrow passage ways beneath the surface instead of a smooth paved road.
The only way out is through.
And on the other side, after seeing so much of GSENM, I feel as though I’ve seen nothing. In my dreams I still long for more.
If you’re looking to learn more about GSENM, public lands, conservation, unapologetic wilderness propaganda and are willing to let me and @michael.versteeg guide you through the desert there’s a pre-order link in my bio. Copies ship March 2019 in prime hiking season. We are so grateful for your support!
