I'm always weirded out when people say they are going to California "wine country." I suppose what they mean is Napa Valley, but California is full to bursting of "wine country." Sonoma, Paso Robles, Santa Cruz Mountains, the Sierra Foothills, Santa Barbara and so many other regions are distinct and respected California wine regions.⠀
So, yeah, I'm in "wine country." This particular part is well known for Pinot Noir and popularized by that film, Sideways. So, guess what I'll be tasting at the Melville Winery's tasting room? Yeah, it isn't on their standard tasting menu. But if you have a chance to side-by-side the Terraces and Block M it is such a unique experience.
