Mount Bachelor ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was the scene that greeted me after my snowshoe hike up to Tumalo Mountain with @mohad_almehanna . It was a very crisp and cold morning. As you can see, Mount Bachelor had an incredible luminous glow light. we have started hiking at 2:30am to be reading for the sunrise. It was -7 degrees at snow park when we left and only got colder as we climbed. we were rewarded for our effort. When we reached the top it was taking breath sunrise. We looked back at Mt Bachelor and saw the clouds parting around the mountain in the predawn light. It's hard to describe the sense of awe and wonder we felt as we watched this incredible scene. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #photography #landscape #travelphotography #landscape_captures @milesmorganphotography @Washingtonexplored #washington #Oregon #Washingtonexplored @nationalparklife @nationalparklife @splendid_earth @cascadiaexplored @iglongexposures @igworld_global @natureonly #mtbachelor

↟ ᴀɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ʙɪʀᴛʜᴅᴀʏ | Alright...can somehow tell me how it’s even remotely possible that Kenoby just turned 4 years old today? Impossible! I actually double..tripled checked to make sure I wasn’t crazy, but alas, it’s true! He’s all grown up that’s for sure. It doesn’t seem real that it was so long ago that we adopted him, he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, and we did his surgeries to correct it and it definitely doesn’t seem real that he’s not even close to being a dumb puppy anymore. Now, he’s just a big, dumb adult! 😂 Well, here’s to many more years of the Big Man! . Happy Birthday, Kenoby! . . Also, have you heard the news? @thenorthwestdog just launched their new pack leader search, open to anyone in the PNW! Get on that! We truly enjoyed working with Heather and the gang! —— { ᴡɪɴʀʏ20 } • 20% off | @Traildogco . { ᴡɪɴʀʏ15} • 15% off | @Blueridgemuttwears | @Ruff_bar . { ᴡɪɴʀʏ12 } • 12% off | @Kensiearnolddesigns . { ᴡɪɴʀʏ } • 10% off | @Twelvepawsca . { ᴡɪʟᴅɪɴɢ10 } • 10% off | @Muttpackoutfitters . { ᴡᴛᴀɪʟs10 } • 10% off | @Thenorthwestdog —— #rescue #dogsofinstagram #pnwonderland #hikingdogsofinstagram #hikingdogsofinsta #outdoorwithdogs #wildernessculture #choosemountains #adventurewithdogs #exploringwithdogs #dogsthathike #dogsonadventure #optoutside #bestwoof #aestheticdogs #adventuremutts #pnw #wanderwashington #washingtontrails #washingtonexplored #wildlingtails #thegreatoutdogs #thestatelyhound #thenorthwestdog

It’s weird when your life is in limbo. On one hand I am the happiest I have ever been. On the other, it slightly worries me that I have no idea how I want my future to look. But isn’t that okay? Is it okay to just wing it and say yes to opportunities as they arise and live life a little more spontaneous than normal? It’s new... but I hope so. 🌙 ——————————————————————————— 📸: @vinhntran (edit by me) #onlyinwashington #herpnwlife #pnwonderland #washingtonexplored #snoqualmie #sheisnotlost

Remember when Main Street businesses were locally owned and operated? The owners knew you by name. They typically knew what you wanted to buy, and if they didn’t have it they were willing to get it in for you. With the advent of the Internet and big-box stores, much of the personal attention has gone by the wayside. Today and every third Thursday of the month, #GetToKnowYourCustomersDay, is a day to turn that around. Make it a point to get to know a little more about your customers and make each of them feel like they are your most important customer today.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #Olympia #WashingtonState #realestate #realty #realtor #coldwellbanker #pacificnorthwest #pnwonderland #pnw #Washington #upperleftUSA #liveauthentic #expectmore #home #homes #WashingtonExplored #northwest

Mt. Ellinor trail in the Olympic Mountains is a cool 5 miles while gaining a little over 3,000' in elevation. It's also my favorite hike! The first couple of miles is dense vegetation just as you would picture the beautiful PNW to appear. Fir and Cedar trees tower above the forest floor while mosses and ferns grow in, on and around, well, everything! Once out from the treeline and into the rock beds, beautiful panoramic views of Lake Cushman and the Hood Canal are just a look over either shoulder. As the trail climbs higher, the views get better with each step. On a clear day, the mighty Mt. Rainier can even be seen. Upon reaching the summit, views of Mt. Washington, Lake Cushman and the Hood Canal dominate the scene to the South and East. To the North, are views of Olympic National Park and the Olympic Mountain range. There are more reasons than just the views of why this trail is my favorite. The memories made with friends and the first time experiences I have had on this mountain are unforgettable. Let us know what your favorite trail is so we can check it when we're in the area. @alltrails @natgeo @stalyon @youpic @usinterior @washingtontrails #IRVN #olympicpeninsula #washington #washingtonexplored #pnw #pnwonderland #trail #hike #hiking #wildandco #leavenotrace #favorite #beauty #optoutside #nature #mtellinor #passionpassport #mountains #experience #favorite #hikemore #explore #discover #lifeisgood #findyourtrail #rvlife #lifestyle #travel

Found some old shots from the first time I went hiking with my camera to Lake Boardman with @sammi.conaway. Been way too long since I’ve been up here and now that I’ve learned a couple more things, I’d say it’s safe to bring my SL1 back and see what kind of different shots we can get.

Sometimes all you need is a different perspective. 🖤 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m becoming more and more angry about the government shutdown with every day that goes by. There are far too many people that are not getting the paychecks that are owed to them and our friends and family are struggling. I’m grateful that there will be backpay, but that does NOT help this moment when they can’t afford to pay their rent, mortgage or even buy damn food or medication. I can’t imagine how scary this time is for them. With that being said, I want to help and I know I’m not the only one! The use of food banks has increased dramatically in the last few weeks by government workers, but the food banks are struggling to keep up. I will be going to the grocery store and then heading to the local food bank to donate this week. I know there are many businesses out there doing what they can to help - who are they and what are they doing? And how else can we help? 🖤

Every west coast kid has memories of standing in the waves as the sand runs through their feet staring off into the sunset, this past weekend was perfect for making those. The sun was out and it was nearly 60 degrees in January... Photography is a subject that is an endless pursuit of knowledge and we all view photography differently, that’s what makes it powerful and unique. To me photography is all about telling genuine and real stories through images. 💫
⠀⠀
I’ve been photographing weddings for over four years now. And when it comes to photographing them, the most important element for me as a photographer is to create a safe space for my couples to be able to express themselves freely. This type of skill didn’t come naturally though — it came from careful practice, learning, and experience.
⠀⠀
This July, I will be guest teaching for @roadsendworkshop to offer you a super affordable workshop in the Olympic National Park. I’ll be going through my thought process and my approach to crafting images that best tell your couples’ stories and feelings. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
All of the info can be found via the link in my bio. Use my code BERTY15 for any workshop (even if you can’t attend mine) until January 25th to save 15% off of the original price. Seats are limited to 10. Hope you all can join me! I would love to meet you and teach you everything I know through this workshop! ✌🏼

We must understand our lives as based, first and foremost. All our experience is affected by the awareness that we are traveling towards death. The best thing we can do in this situation is to stare it in the face, and live an ‘authentic’ life.

What a rainy day it’s been today! The photo we took with Marshall was an absolutely beautiful day. A professional mountain climber and hiker, there isn’t nearly a place that Marshall hasn’t been. One of his most vivid memories would have to have been from back in 2015. It was a cold October evening atop the mountain, the sun had just set, the fog was rolling in, and the long descent would begin. It would be 7:19pm that a voice would cry out, a call for help. It wouldn’t take long to find, a couple trapped on a jut extending out over the cliff below. It was through the endurance, patience, and bravery of Marshall that they would find their way to home. Just seven weeks later he would be invited and commemorated at the Congressional Colonial Ceremony, being given the “Gold Pine” award for bravery and excellence

One day, if I’m lucky, I will be old and grey. My skin won’t have the same elasticity it once had. The beauty of youth will have faded, my bones will ache and I will be tired. That’s why I take these adventures, for one day I won’t be able. Waking up completely alone out in the desert with no cell reception, no internet, no distractions is truly something I will remember in the years when I am old. Traveling solo is the most powerful thing I have ever done. Spanning wide and far with out the assistance of others. Truly living my best life solo—what a dream. Your body is a vessel and you carry that vessel with you from the beginning to the end. You truly only get to experience everything with yourself. You are there for yourself from the moment you enter the world until the moment you leave it. You should probably get to know yourself as much as you can until then. Don’t you think? Each day We get to wake up and live another day is a gift. Get out there and get em’. Bring your Subaru.
