lately i’ve been thinking about what my life was like before social media. i grew up in the woods and spent most of my days building forts with my brothers, climbing trees, reading, drawing, writing stories for hours on end on my parents’ computer, taking photos of anything and everything i saw, and collecting webkinz (does webkinz count as social media? 🙈). my childhood was seeped in raw creativity. and if i’m being honest, i feel like i’ve let myself lose a little bit of it in the sea of comparison.
social media is incredible and such a crazy cool part of life, but at the end of the day— i don’t want to be creating just to have something to post. creativity is way too wild to be constrained like that.
so here’s to remembering what makes me elle and what makes you YOU— the things we are deeply passionate about— and to doing more of it all, just for the fun of it.
paint, write, make music, make aaall the things, because you’re the only one who can do it like you. and i think that’s cool :) 🌼✨
