Fitspos make me sad.
They need to realize that there are other things outside of fitness that they’re missing out on because of their obsession with the gym.
How can you enjoy your life is you plan your day around when you can go workout, you plan your food based on your “macros”, you’re constantly thinking about what you should be improving and never enjoy who you are and what you look like in the present moment?
They over-exercise, they follow an app to choose what to eat and refuse to listen to their bodies, they allow themselves “treats” but in moderation, they get anxious if they miss a workout, they’re obsessed with the way they look, they’re obsessed with progress, they’re obsessed with growth, they’re obsessed with numbers, how is that healthy and sustainable?
Fitness is swallowing up their whole life and they don’t even notice it, they justify it with “dedication”, “willpower”, “discipline”.
Their focus is on reaching shallow goals, on their physique, on controlling the whole process, it’s not on health (mental and physical), on tuning in to their bodies and getting to know them deeply, on acceptance and flexibility.
I love the gym, I love seeing myself getting stronger, but I will never let that take control over me.
If there’s anything I want you to take from this post is to always remember that working out is supposed to IMPROVE your life, not HINDER it.
Have a great day :)
(ps: I try to be a positive person on here, but sometimes I really need to call out people’s bullshit)
