EGAN BLUE SPIRULINA PANCAKES - Ingredients ♡ 200 g all purpose flour ♡ 1+1/2 tbsp baking powder ♡ 2 tbsp coconut sugar ♡ 1 tbsp @rawnice blue spirulina powder ♡ 360 ml milk of choice ♡ 1+1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar ♡ some blueberries (optional, but I used them) . Mix milk and vinegar and let the mixture sit for 5 minutes. In a large bowl mix together flour, baking powder, sugar and spirulina powder. Pour liquids over dry, mix well and let your pancake batter sit for 5 minutes. Heat up a non stick pan and start cooking your pancakes on low heat for about 1 minute per side (if you want and have them on hand, sprinkle some blueberries on top of each pancake while it's still cooking on the first side 😊). . . . How crazy and exciting is life? Waking up on the mornings and not believing that it’s actually reality. That you can decide every single day how it’s going to be. Not only what exactly you’re going to do, but in what mood you are. Let me tell you the pure truth, I wasn’t like that before, not by any means. I used to wake up and be grumpy for the first half an hour, just because I hated waking up with an alarm. My only motivation to get up was having breakfast, nothing else really gave me an actual sense to start the day. The job that I was doing was more of an habit, rather than something that I really wanted to do. It was most likely just because I got paid and the society telling me that an achievement is only succeeded when you have it on paper. And even after I stopped the work and started this trip, it wasn’t easy every day to be productive. When there’s nothing “waiting” for you, nothing where you have to be kinda, the thought of just staying in bed screams in the mornings. So I find purposes for starting the days early. And one of the biggest reasons is that I know how tired I’ll feel if I oversleep and don’t get my ass out. I know how beautiful life is and how much you’ll miss out if you spend your days with staying in bed. And I’m not saying that you should sleep less, cause sleep is important, no one can argue with that. But use the time you’re awake more conscious and keep in mind, that you’re the one who’s taking the decision on how the day is doing to be. And you’re having that decision every single day. Thanks to @paradiseamsterdam for this beautiful case, which has the pattern of the ocean on it. I bet it’s even nicer in real winter to have a piece of the ocean as a reminder with you.

🔥 @functional.foods • • • • • Looking for a fun way to incorporate seasonal squash and more veggies into your meals? Try this VEGAN SPAGHETTI SQUASH LASAGNA! I promise you, it’s 🔥🔥🔥 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lasagna was one of my favorite meals growing up. However, since dairy and wheat aren’t compatible with my body, I haven’t had it in years. This dish is great as a side or on its own and perfect for the cooler weather. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To make the VEGAN SPAGHETTI SQUASH LASAGNA, you will need: • 1 spaghetti squash • @miyokos_kitchen vegan mozzarella • 1 jar @raoshomemade marinara sauce • 3-4 cups chopped Swiss chard • Fresh chopped basil (top) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pre-heat oven to 400°F. Cut the spaghetti squash lengthwise from stem to tail and scrape out the seeds and stringy bits of flesh. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Place the squash halves face down in a roasting pan and add enough water to lightly coat the bottom of the pan. Cook 30-40 minutes or until squash is tender. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When the squash is done, remove from oven and let cool for 30 minutes before handling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Next, lightly grease a 9x13 casserole dish with a bit of coconut oil. Start by creating the base layer with one half of the spaghetti squash (use a fork to scrape out strands). Spread squash evenly (semi-compact) followed by a layer of @miyokos_kitchen mozz. I used half the cheeze for the first layer and the other half for the second layer. I layered the cheeze chunks out about 1 1/2-2 inches apart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Next, chop up ~1 1/2 cup of Swiss chard and lay evenly over the spaghetti squash and cheeze. Pour 1/2 a can of @raoshomemade marinara sauce over the Swiss chard. This is all the “first layer.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Repeat the above steps to create the “second layer” starting with the other half of spaghetti squash. Make sure the top layer is sauce. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Cover the dish with a small baking sheet (could cover the dish with foil but I don’t use aluminum in cooking) and bake for 20 minutes at 400°F. Next, remove the sheet/foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes uncovered. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Once done, turn the oven setting to HIGH broil and cook for ~2 minutes (this gets the mozz browned and bubbly). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Remove from heat and let

This vegan cream cheese by @kitehillfoods (not an ad) tastes amazing. I honestly think it tastes better than dairy cream cheese. Dairy is linked to many diseases and causes unnecessary pain, and suffering to innocent animals. So, if you haven’t tried this brand you’re missing out. I will warn you, it’s addictive!

A little throwback and transformation post for you all. When I first started my plant based journey I was heavily into running. I would start every day with at least a 5 mile run and bang out a 30-45 min calisthenics workout when I was finished. I built my endurance to running a half marathon but eventually tendinitis in my Achilles’ tendon made it impossible to run for several weeks. True believer that everything happens for a reason, because my inability to run made me seek out a different way to exercise which is how I landed in the gym. Flash forward almost 2 years later and I have made significant gains on the plant based diet. In the pic on the left I was about 150lb and the pic on the right I am about 185lb. Both pics I felt better than I ever had imagined was possible before switching to a vegan diet. Just sharing this for anyone who says you can’t build muscle on a plant based diet. Of course there was a lot of heavy lifting involved, but if you put in the work and at the right stuff gains are definitely possible. 💪🏽🌱 . . #throwbackthursday #transformation #veganbodybuilding #veganfitness

Sweet ‘n Spicy Stuffed Japanese Sweet Potatoes with Black Beans, Pineapple Salsa and Cashew Sour Cream 🍠🍍🌶 _______________________________________________________ Wash and bake your sweet potatoes at 400 F (200 C) for 45 -50 min until fork tender. In the meantime prepare salsa 🍍 2 cups fresh (or frozen) pineapple 2 jalapeños (seeded for less heat) 1 red bell pepper 1 small sweet or red onion 1 avocado Juice of 1 lime (2 if very small or not very juicy) 1 tbsp date (or maple) syrup 1/2 tsp chili flakes (if you like it spicy 🌶) Salt and pepper to taste _______________________________________________________ Finely dice onion and add it to a bowl with some salt and the lime juice. (This helps with the pungency of raw onions) Wash, seed and dice bell pepper and jalapeños. Cut pineapple and avocado into small chunks. Add date syrup, pepper, chili flakes to the onions and stir. Add the pineapple, peppers and avocado and gently toss to combine. Cashew sour cream: 1 cup soaked cashews 1-2 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp apple cider vinegar 2-3 tbsp unsweetened plain oat milk Salt to taste Blend all ingredients until very smooth. Refrigerate both until use! _______________________________________________________ When sweet potatoes are done, slice them open lengthwise and fill with black beans, lots of the delicious salsa and some cashew sour cream on top! Enjoy 🥰

Fitspos make me sad. They need to realize that there are other things outside of fitness that they’re missing out on because of their obsession with the gym. How can you enjoy your life is you plan your day around when you can go workout, you plan your food based on your “macros”, you’re constantly thinking about what you should be improving and never enjoy who you are and what you look like in the present moment? . They over-exercise, they follow an app to choose what to eat and refuse to listen to their bodies, they allow themselves “treats” but in moderation, they get anxious if they miss a workout, they’re obsessed with the way they look, they’re obsessed with progress, they’re obsessed with growth, they’re obsessed with numbers, how is that healthy and sustainable? . Fitness is swallowing up their whole life and they don’t even notice it, they justify it with “dedication”, “willpower”, “discipline”. Their focus is on reaching shallow goals, on their physique, on controlling the whole process, it’s not on health (mental and physical), on tuning in to their bodies and getting to know them deeply, on acceptance and flexibility. . I love the gym, I love seeing myself getting stronger, but I will never let that take control over me. If there’s anything I want you to take from this post is to always remember that working out is supposed to IMPROVE your life, not HINDER it. . Veganism has this stigma as being an inaccessible, expensive endeavor. People are so heavily entrenched in Carnism, that they forget that lots of the food that they already eat is likely already Vegan (or very easily made Vegan with a few adjustments). Pictured here are 7 food items that are probably currently in the average household in the United States. Veganism is not that inaccessible. If people are trying to tell you that being Vegan means doing juice fasts and raw till 4 those people are misleading you. Can you do those things as a Vegan? Sure. Do you have to? Absolutely not. I’d also like to get in before the haters and say a few things. 1) I chose JIF because it’s easily recognizable and common in households. Calm down. 2) I’m not saying one ONLY has to eat these foods in a balanced diet, only that there’s a plethora of Vegan possibilities already existing in the majority of American households. Hands up if you love potatoes 🙋🏻‍♀️🥔♥️ potatoes get a lot of stick especially in the dieting world, when they’re a source of energy, fibre and potassium and they’re 100% natural. 🔥The best plant-based protein sources🔥 ➖➖➖➖➖ Follow @dancudes ! ➖➖➖➖➖ Do you eat a plant-based diet? Regardless if you do or not, do not mistaken a plant-based lifestyle as one that neglects protein intake. In fact, there are numerous sources of protein from plant-based sources to help you make gains that shouldn't be neglected. ➖➖➖➖➖ Generally, when trying to build muscle or lose fat, we want to consume about 0.8-1g of protein per pound of bodyweight, scaled up or down depending on the person and their progress. So for someone like me at 170lbs, that would range from 136-170g of protein every day. From a pure muscle mass standpoint, this generally is enough protein to build and/or maintain muscle mass. People often forget the amount of protein found in different plant-based sources which can more than easily help you achieve your daily needs. ➖➖➖➖➖ Some of these protein sources include: lentil pasta (25g per cup depending on the brand), peanut butter (4g per tbsp and when paired with sprouted grain toast, you can make a snack of about 15g of protein), chia seeds (3g per tbsp which can add a lot to your oatmeal or chia pudding), @vivolife (25g per scoop), tofu (about 10g per 100g serving of extra firm tofu which is a great meat replacement for those who don't eat meat), and quinoa (8g of complete protein per cup of cooked quinoa). ➖➖➖➖➖ What are your favourite protein sources? Get bored with regular push ups? Add some variation to your routine. . These are feet elevated ring push ups. The more you elevate your feet, the more difficult it makes the movement. What I like to do is start with the hardest variation first. Today was a handstand push up with feet touching the wall. Then I moved to feet elevated push ups with a high box and lowered the box height after each set. If you are trying to target a different area of the chest and need an additional challenge, you could add weight in the form of a weighted vest or weight belt. . Vegan chickpea 🌮 Nutrition - . Calories: 311kcal | Carbohydrates: 32.1g | Protein: 10.9g | Fat: 13.2g | Saturated Fat: 1.47g | Sodium: 521.6mg | Fiber: 9.2g | Sugar: 8.2g . 6 soft tortillas . Taco filling 1 avocado chopped into cubes 2 tomatoes diced 1 1/2 cups chickpeas drained and rinsed 1 green pepper chopped 1/2 big onion finely sliced 6 tbsp red cabbage finely sliced 1-2 tbsp balsamic vinegar (to roast the chickpeas) 1-2 tbsp soy sauce (to roast the chickpeas) fresh cilantro to taste . Instructions Put the chickpeas in a pan/skillet together with the balsamic vinegar and soy sauce. Roast at low-medium heat for about 5 minutes and stir frequently Chop your veggies and the avocado. You can lightly sauté the veggies (onion, green pepper, red cabbage, tomatoes) in a pan/skillet for a few minutes with a little bit of oil or leave them raw (like I did) Mix the ingredients for the tahini dressing in a small bowl with a whisk.
