I'm a meteorologist for @the_mwis but up until recently I would describe myself as a fairly casual hill walker, and despite regularly travelling in and around all the UK uplands, I hadn't really dabbled far into the Lakeland fells. However, on a fine day in spring this year I got drawn deeper into the magic and majesty of the 'big ones' on Helvellyn and Striding Edge. I've now got my #wainwrights map to colour in and feel that's given me extra motivation to do more. I'm only just beginning but already #wainwrightbagging has taken me to some places and stunning views I would otherwise probably never have gone to. It's only 7/214 so far, but I look forward to my next #LakeDistrict adventure soon! #ukhikers#ukhiddengems#mountainweather#mwis

I'm sucker for a lone tree shot. The main thing that drew me to this composition was how the light angles down into the quarry. I don't think the image would have worked if the slope was in shadow. .
Ryan @vanilakodey off on one of his many rogue missions.
Working his way through the Nuttalls and never one to skip a peak if it’s nearby.
A few of us followed home for a detour to bag an extra 3 peaks.
On some hikes you just have that extra bit of energy left to push yourself up the extra peak or crush those extra miles.... Then it makes resting after that little bit sweeter

Loved how this little island on Derwent Water was constantly on display all morning, being a nice little point of interest. Leaving the cold weather behind today 😁 see you all in 2 weeks ✌️

Brothers in arms!
Another bromance blossoming on the @email@example.com Insta-meet to cadair idris
Speaking to many people during and after the hike, one thing is always repeated - they made new friends thanks to attending the meet.
Keep up the awesome work James & Jack - bringing the hiking community together in a positive way 🙏😌
