So I’m interrupting my barrage of ireland photos with this rare photo.
I refer to this as my “forgotten trip” from 2018. For 8 days, I dived into the heart of the PNW in Washington State, hitting three national parks and many wonderful sights. However, I never once posted a photo from North Cascades National Park.
I can think of two reasons: first of all, we didn’t quite research the park and in not doing so, we weren’t able to do any of the hikes we wanted to. So, we ended up doing two hikes (one where this photo was taken, which actually wasn’t bad) and another called Pyramid Lake. Pyramid Lake easily became one of my least favorite hikes. Not because of its difficulty, but because there was nothing memorable about it. It’s rare for me to EVER talk down a hike because I love all hiking. However, the lake was a small pond and we had no view, of anything. This may be the one hike I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Secondly, after this 8 day trip, I came back for 8 days (worked 6 of those days) and then went on another trip to Banff for 8 days (a lot of 8’s haha). This meant I barely got time to edit my photos from this trip, particularly North Cascades. This doesn’t mean I won’t ever go back. The North Cascades are absolutely stunning. I just need to plan farther in advance. I likely won’t go back this year… but I am really tempted to move to the PNW one day!
