Good film making isn’t about crazy luma spin transitions, ultra wide cropped frames, ultra creamy background blur or even 120FPS slow mo... Some of the best films take up the entire screen, use only straight cuts, shoot everything between f4-f10 at 24FPS.
You could have an 8K Red scarlet camera with a 100 thousand dollar piece of glass sitting on a rigged out Movi Pro with 5 Ninjas on WiFi... If you don’t have a good story to tell, it would be a high quality visual that does absolutely nothing, that you spent 100K producing.
Hey, I just want to tell stories, all those things are just tools in my tool box.
I still shoot with an a6500 and 2 lenses. I’d much rather spend money on things that make the story better than tech that distracts me from my main goal... My main goal being to tell a story that my audience resonates with.
For me, it’s about depth, not surface shine...
