The House of Nawabs find a new address - Kaveh.! Fancy a hearty Awadhi meal? Or some lipsmacking North Indian delicacies? Kaveh - The House of Nawabs is the newest destination that should be in your bucket list. Located near Desapriya Park, this fairly large sized restaurant offers the traditional Biryani, Kebabs and main courses, but with an improved taste! The décor is fairly simple, not much extravaganza or jazzy lights. Instead, expect some comfortable sitting options and a plethora of mouthwatering dishes.
We started straight with the array of Kebabs. Murgh Kakori Kebab, boneless and minced Chicken, mixed with grounded spices and prepared on skewer. The final result is a fine and delicate chicken kebab, which creates absolute flavour profile in your mouth. The Paneer Tikka was served in skewer of three, with alternate layer of cubed paneer slices, bell peppers and onions. The final result were beautiful soft paneer kababs, with the chargrilled edges adding on to the taste.
The last two Kebabs, Mahi Ajwaini Tikka and Murgh Makhmali Kebabs, were literally a counterpart of one another. While the Mahi Ajwaini Tikka had a slightly rich and spicy kick, with a hint of Ajwain, the Murgh Makhmali Kebabs, were rather creamy and milky, and much smoother in taste. The Mahi Ajwaini Tikka probably were the best of the evening. Fresh chunks of boneless fish, grilled and tandoor’ed to perfection. It was hard to get a grip of them with the spoon and fork, as the kebabs literally fell out of the grip.
Move on to the mains, and we jumped straight on to the likes of Karachi Khare Masale ka Ghosht, Kadhai Paneer, Tandoori Roti, Murgh Cha(n)p, Murgh Lababdar and Murgh Biryani. The Kadhai Paneer and Murgh Lababdar had a similar appearance, but yet difference to taste. The Kadhai Paneer, had a much balanced flavour, with the smoky and charred taste from the Kadhai, adding on to the final gravy.
