If somone were to tell me 8 years ago that I would eventually find myself almost 8 years #sober #alcoholfree a #vegan , #yogainstructor , a teacher of all things I love and that I would be a #passionate go getter who finds myself on the side of rockwalls constantly at 28 years old... I would tell them to get the f out and that they had no idea who I was 🤣
Oh, how things change. It is crazy how even on a late path, in #sobriety , doors and unvieling of #trueself continues to unfold. It's never too late.
When deciding to first get sober the odds are more than against you. Quite literally every direction you turn is an obstacle . Whether the obstacle is a result of your addiction, or simply cards you were previously dealt in life the challenges are waiting for you as soon as you decide to take that sober step. Lack of job, lack of sober community, loss of self, suffering mental health, poor judgement, debt, homeless, trauma... ( the list can go on and on.) Even still, society expects a person who is suffering from the illness of addiction after a 30 day+ program after years of using, and loss of support systems to function in society soon after very little treatment.
#Yoga has been so helpful to me helping me to create tools and coping mechanisms like breathwork, body and mind connection and so much more to help me keep a stable foundation in my sober life. 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
