Two summers ago in the mountains. Can’t wait to spend the entire summer this year exploring the state uninterrupted. From southeast Alaska all the way up to Prudhoe Bay, I’ll be constantly on the move. If you plan on coming up let me know! // . . . . . #mkexplore #tinkerstreet #fujifilmx_us #la_minimal #fujifeed #outandbeyond #flakphotoland #paperjournalmag #imaginarymagnitude #somewheremagazine #HippoMag #fujifilmglobal #myfujifilm #stayandwander #lessismore #beautifuldestinations #travel #alaska #summer #justgoshoot #solarcollective #mountains

. Thank you so much for yesterday’s words of encouragement and feedback. It made me want to dip my toe back into it. I’m not quite ready to share the thoughts behind the series yet, as I do need to put things in context on the website and on here first. However, sharing the title can’t hurt... This series is called Shifting Synergy. . . . #mediumformat #120mm #filmphotography #madewithkodak #weltraumzine #humbleweekendz #mytinyatlas #iamatraveler #natgeo #guardiantravelsnaps #nationalmonument #imaginarymagnitude #visitarizona #theadventureproject #filmshooter #wildernessculture #wilderness #outandbeyond #justgo #solitude #oftheafternoon #fisheyelemag #minimalzine #portbox #ignant

I've had my fair share of vet waiting room conversations lately and I was struck at the compassion I witnessed there. The almost instant bond you create with that woman walking in with her cat that just got attacked by a dog and that might not make it, the old couple with the blind pug that fell off the bed or the party of 6 all waiting together for one dog, comforting each others. What I witnessed was heartwarming and I wish that human ER rooms were half as much filled with compassion and connexion… But I know that this is the magic of animals, of our love connexion with them and how easy it is to strike a conversation with a fellow worried pet parent. Just like the conversations we've had here on IG where so many of you have told me your pet’s story... I also know that for every person that has reached out to us, there is a least two shaking their head and thinking how crazy this is. Believe me, I know. So, keep shaking your head because today I saw a holistic vet with Stout. A great woman that he liked immediately. She did energy work on him, used a pendulum to find the appropriate supplements to help his immune system fight back. Yeah, I know. You can go ahead and judge me. For those who are still reading, she said she felt he was not ready to go. That’s the feeling I’ve had since the beginning, but when emotions are involved it’s hard to differentiate between your instinct and your own desire. I'm not ready to give up just yet, but I'm also not expecting miracles. So if you're still here, Thank you. I have said it and wrote it more in the last week than I probably have in my entire life. I feel incredibly grateful for the love and support we have received. It is an honor to be witness to so much generosity (in money, but also in words). Mathilde is still selling her jewelry to try and collect money to have a memorial piece of jewelry made for each of us from another Etsy artist. The link to her little store is in my profile. She is adding new models regularly. We have also corrected the shipping to a fixed $3.50 anywhere in the world. And now, let me say it one more time: from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Who would have thought finding garbage could be SO exciting! . Being with friends in the New Year really helped get my ass back into gear for trash talk diaries. . I don’t know about you, but the government shutdown and Trump being Trump really had me down. I felt powerless. I lost momentum and made excuses. I had a lot of doubts about whether I was doing something worthwhile or if I could actually make a difference. . So I had to can it 🛢( all the negative thoughts ) and get back to work! 🙌🏼 . Read more about these struggles and my latest project on my website ( link in bio ).

Have you ever visited a place that is so undeniably beautiful that looking at a picture takes your breath away? Well that’s how the mountain town of La Cucarita in the Dominican Republic makes me feel...and I’m sure anyone else that has visited would agree! I’ve been lucky enough to visit twice on teaching missions. I hope to go back soon.

Following the trail to make it to the weekend...no detours please 🙌🏻this picture is from my favorite hike in Arches, we had to follow cairns left by previous hikers to stay on the trail. I snapped this of @cjsumner fixing a fallen over cairn. Just doing our part to make sure those behind us didn’t get lost! #protectourparks

After all we are made of earth // and... as if we would know each other since years, the air is thin and the fever rises. And we approach each other, with skin and hair, we break and bend the ice. You are looking for my closeness and I will not let you wait. {And I am looking for your closeness and you won't let me wait} I like your voice and feel your breath, on and above and underneath my skin. While we smile and keep silent, feel so familiar and though so strange, I want to stay for this moment just a little longer.. #ennobunger // Ich möchte noch bleiben, die Nacht ist noch jung 🌌 #goodnightwordsforyou 😘 ________________________________________________ #wildernessculture #outside_project #roamtheplanet #ourplanetdaily #momentsofmine #darlingmovement #thatsdarling #landscapelovers #landscape_captures #lateafternoon #fotografiasconalma #chasinglight #mytinyatlas #outandbeyond #dazedandexposed #theearthissue #slowjourneys #freepeople #stayandwander #artofvisuals #wearetravelgirls #mallorca #mehrmeer

Do you ever just lie down outside and listen? Yesterday, even though it was a bazillion degrees below 0, I laid down in the snow and let the silence and the sunshine envelope me. In reference to my last post’s question, this is where I truly feel like “myself”. #mmjwanders

Tucked away on the countryside in New South Wales you’ll find the Glasshouse restaurant at Goonoo Goonoo Station, complete with fantastic dishes and beautiful scenery. I would imagine they see their fair share of weddings here!

This life we live. I live a wonderful life, a really truly wonderful life. And I don’t say that to brag or anything, but rather, I say that as a reminder to myself when anxiety hits. Yes, there are those things. There will always be those things. The anxiety, fear, and pain filled. The moments I hop in the shower just so I can cry things out without an explanation to follow. There are those moments when the memory of being unable to control my hands, upper body, and voice, paralyze me, doing everything in their power to push me back into the “safe zone,” otherwise, I’m once again, going to be checking into the ER for this, that, or the other unexplainable thing. Yes, there are those things. There will always be those things. But there will also be so much joy in between. Travel, curiosity, and community. The writing of a book, the re-discovering of a voice, and so much more. I can, more often than I’d like to admit, lose sight of this. Of all that I do have and all that I already am. I have a meal every night, a brother to call when I panic, a community to be my “why” behind showing up each day, a difficult but wonderful dog that challenges me daily, a cousin to get creative or watch cheesy movies with, a computer to work at home from, and a boyfriend that reminds me of my strengths when all I can see are my weaknesses. I don’t know what will happen or how things will end up, but I do know that I’ll be ok if it all breaks down, and that is truly an incredible gift. That said, don’t you dare beat yourself up when a day ahead is so impossible you can’t even begin to imagine how you’ll make it through, but do take a moment, if not during, then after, to remind yourself of all that’s here. Of all that you’ve done, your accomplishments and obstacles worked through. Trusting in yourself enough that you can once again believe that you’ll make it through. Anyways, these were my thoughts as I hit un-groomed trails on skate skis, for the first time. Falling more times than I can count, being overly dramatic, feeling incredibly sorry for myself at some points, but deciding to show up anyway, reminding myself that I’ve got it pretty good most days #morethanlyme

This place was packed with tourists. A beautiful location but very chaotic. I wrote about social media and my perception of popular places. Link in my bio if you want to check it out. Also and more importantly, with the government shutdown, national parks are experiencing overwhelming usage. Stay away if you can to lessen the impact on our protected lands. This isn’t an excuse to “do whatever I want because no one is there to stop me.”

A human being is a part of the whole, called by us the "Universe” a part limited in space and time. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. ~ Albert Einstein 💫🌱❤️

Public lands have a special place in my heart and the thought of them being trashed and damaged is to say the least upsetting. Trash cans are spilling over, toilets are over flowing and there is an increase in trespassing. The effect this has on the land and wildlife will take years to repair. So please check out @leavenotracecenter for some suggestions on how to keep @mypubliclands and @nationalparkservice in better condition. If you do visit bring some extra trash bags and help clean up if you can.
