My brother has been photographing some shells for me whilst he was on the beach on holiday this weekend and has just messaged me these. I am rather taken with the “non perfect” ones which have survived a battering in the sea.
As with all things in life, I am never drawn to “perfect” things and prefer to make jewellery that is not symmetrical but has different edges on each side and is more organic.
I am very drawn to the shapes created inside these shells, although my brother would like me to make a complete silver shell for himself. He may or may not get what he wants (!) Have been sketching a lot of circles and ovals recently with cut out middles and have three half carved pieces I am working on in wax so finding these broken shells, without me asking him to, is very timely 🐚 .
Saturday mornings are the BEST✨... workout, devotions & relaxed time with my kids! I’m not rushing to get out of the house, while responding to emails, brushing hair, making breakfast & throwing on clothes... I get to just #bemom 🥰
