Reelz Feelz: Valentine (2001) . . Happy Valentine's Day Cinephiles! Throughout the day I'll be throwing out some of my favorites to view on the big day of love & while Valentine is unconventional, it has become a guilty pleasure of sorts that I find more enjoyable each time I watch it. . . In the film, five women are stalked by an unknown assailant while preparing for Valentine's Day. The film stars David Boreanaz, Denise Richards, Marley Shelton, Jessica Capshaw & Jessica Cauffiel, with a special opening scene appearance from Katherine Heigl. Director Jamie Blanks, who helmed 1998's Urban Legend, has fun throwing it back to slasher films of the 80s & while this isn't the best of the teen slasher resurgence of the late 90s-early 2000s, it's still a lot of fun. I highly recommend the @shoutfactory Collector's Edition release of you're a fan of the film as its loaded with fun special features. Are you a fan of Valentine? Sound off! In the meantime, here are some fun facts about the film: . . 1. Katherine Heigl had only 3 days to shoot her scenes. She was already committed to TV's Roswell. . . 2. At a cost of $10 million this is the cheapest film to ever have a Superbowl spot. . . 3. David Boreanaz shot his entire character role (Adam Carr) in less than two weeks. . . 4. One of the very few trailers for a theatrical film to feature a female narrator. . . 5. Shot in 42 days. . . 6. Katherine Heigl didn't read the whole script before accepting her role. In a 2005 magazine interview, she said she regretted the decision after seeing the final cut of the film. . . 7. Luke Wilson and Jeremy Sisto were considered for the role of Adam Carr. . . 8. Richard Kelly was originally offered the chance to direct, but turned the offer down. . . 9. Denise Richards was cast in the film without an audition. . . 10. Grossed $20.3M on a $10M budget

"Velvet Buzzsaw" Ok let's start by saying that we are all at fault because of the number of expectations we put on this movie, for most having Dan Gilroy and Jake Gyllenhaal teaming up again for the first time since "Nightcrawler" would probably be enough but they kept adding more and more, the cast added Rene Russo, John Malkovich and Toni Collete, the trailer was weird, disturbing and looked awesome, even Netflix track record was changing and giving us more and more hope and to be honest to have something 1/10 as good as "Nightcrawler" would be enough, well I think we had that. The movie started really well, the satire to the art world and the business behind it was pretty interesting, the characters and especially Gyllenhaal grabbed our attention and did not let go, the problem was when it would go into the "horror" genre, it felt disconnection between the 2 sides of the coin and that didn't let us enjoy fully any of it. Still, this is not a bad movie, it looks good, most of the actors are there to play and there is as much to love as there is much to get confused like for example the title of the movie lol, there are many plot holes but it does finish in hope at least in our eyes. Have you seen this movie? what did you think about it? do you see the ending with hope or the start of much pain? Movies You Forgot Were Number One: Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000). . . 1998's Urban Legend was moderately successful because it snuck in during the height of the late 90s teen slasher movie craze that began with Scream in 1996. It's not the best of the bunch but it holds its own & has gained a bit of a cult following since its release. . . A sequel was inevitable since the original grossed $72.5M on a $14M budget & that's why we get 2000's Urban Legends: Final Cut. . . The film follows a film student who finds herself at the center of serial killings occurring on her university campus shortly after she begins making a thesis film about urban legends. . . The sequel is nowhere near as good as the first film & it tries to be meta but its meta sensibilities seem very dated. The most interesting aspect of the film is its cast as a lot of them went on to great fame (Anthony Anderson, Jennifer Morrison, Eva Mendes & Matthew Davis) to name a few. Critics also ripped this film a new one with a mere 9% rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. . . While I don't think most have forgotten the sequel but maybe you forgot that on the weekend of September 22, 2000 the film opened at number one with $8.5M. It barely beat The Exorcist Director's Cut which placed second with $8.1M that weekend. The film fell like a stone from there & grossed $21.4M at the domestic box office which was lower than the domestic take of the first film which grossed $38M. Its worldwide gross of $38.5M barely beat the domestic gross of the original but it was technically profitable due to its $14M budget. . . Are you a fan of Urban Legends: Final Cut? Do you remember it topping the box office for one week? Sound off!

"Mid90s" In 2018 we have seen many impressive directorial debuts, Aneesh Chaganty with "Searching", Bradley Cooper with "A star is born", Boots Riley with "Sorry to bother you" and our favorite movie of the year "Eighth Grade" by Bo Burnham but the one that really surprised us because it felt so honest and showed a new side of an actor we really like was Jonah Hill "Mid90s". This movie felt completely unsafe for him, it didn't feel like an actor that wanted to try and direct a movie, no it felt like an actor that really needed to tell us this story and wanted to tell us in his own way, the video format made us feel we where watching old skateboard videos captured by this friends, the choice of the actors was perfect because very early in the movie your forget this is actors like in "eight grade" it just felt the director let them go for it and do their lives, even Lucas Hedges that is a star we forget that it is him there. The message of this movie is one that we should all talk about, the pressures to fit in, the pressures to stand out and how we deal with being an outsider, Sunny plays all this to perfection and his relationships to especially his brother shows how toxic some parts of our life can be and no one even has a clue. This is a really powerful movie that disguises himself as a small first work of a comedic actor to smack us in our face with one best come to age stories and that Jonah Hill never felt it needed to turn in to a light comedy to keep people engaged. Have you seen this movie? What are your thoughts about it? What was your favorite directorial debut of 2018? Creed! I love a good boxing movie. It motivates you, gives you goosebumps and pumps you up. This movie did exactly that. I really enjoyed this. I loved all the rocky movies back in the day. Creed Vs Drago again. Loved it. Was so good to see some of the old characters back. It was very much like rocky 4. Lost, went back to old school training, come back and kicked ass. I do Recommend watching this movie if you were ever a Rocky fan.

Worst Films of 2018: #3 - The Girl in the Spider's Web This was originally number 8. But the longer I think about it, the other movies are much better than this because I hate this for tons of reasons. One being, nobody from the last film. Second, totally different genre and different type of traits for our already beloved characters. Third, it's just too damn boring. Finally, it's just so illogical and too convenient on it's characters to the point I was pulling my hair out. God I hope there's not a third one. #TheGirlInTheSpidersWeb #ClaireFoy #LakeithStanfield #SverrirGudnason #SylviaHoeks #StephenMerchant #FedeAlverez #SonyPictures #FuckThisMovie #BluRay #Cinema #MovieReviews #WorstOf2018 #WorstFilmsOf2018 #MoonBearReviews

Live Free or Die Hard aka Die Hard 4.0 (2007) Movie Review Disutradarai oleh Len Wiseman.

Be sure to check out @wmk_moviereviews' review of "Can You Ever Forgive Me," either here on instagram or at pixelatedgeek.com! . #Repost @wmk_moviereviews ( @get_repost) ・・・ #WMKMovieAwards: The winner for #BestPicture goes to.... #CanYouEverForgiveMe There’s almost nothing better than a director who can create something so sophisticated out of a premise so simple. #MarielleHeller does the job so well in “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” It’s based on the true story of #LeeIsrael, a struggling author who had forged many letters from famous writers for personal gain. The plot is simplistic but Heller adds a level of depth to #MelissaMcCarthy ‘s character unlike you’ve ever seen in her entire career. McCarthy breaks free from her derivative roles for a much more serious and meaningful character, though she does use her style of humor with a fresh approach to new material. Israel represents the loneliness that many people tend to face throughout their lifetime. She sinks into personal destruction through her own means of her criminal downfall. In her crimes, she learns that it may just have been the “excitement” she was missing to feel some sort of worth. One of the most memorable scenes of 2018 involves Israel’s cat, of which I will not spoil. It is a strong representation of how tight knit direction can make even the most simplistic of moments severely heart wrenching. Moviegoers should know that this is not intended to be a straightforward telling of a true story, but rather a metaphoric character study that deserves deeper analysis of the human spirit. I've got to say this is one of the best films of the year so far and I know a lot of movie adaptations of anime don't really work out well sometimes but this movie stayed original to the story and maintained a action packed Sci-fi Cyberpunk adventure everyone that's a old fan or new fan will love! 10/10 score for me. ~ #alitabattleangel #alita #movie #moviereview #moviereviews #anime #manga #film #filmmaking #10outof10 #bestfilmoftheyear #2019 #2019movies #scifi #cyberpunk #movielover #weaboo

Quick Reviews ⚡️🎥 Most of you are probably thinking, what the hell is this “Dog Soldiers” movie? “Dog Soldiers” is an extremely underrated UK 2002 low-budget ($2,000,000) horror film from the mind of Neil Marshall. It’s about a group of soldiers who encounter a pack of werewolves while conducting a routine training exercise in the Scottish wilderness. If you like man vs creature action movies like “Aliens” (1986), or the low-budget claustrophobic feel where nearly the entire film takes place in a house like “Night of the Living Dead” (1968) or “The Evil Dead” (1983), you cannot overlook this movie. The premise is great, the practical effects are awesome considering it’s low-budget, and has overall been received by audiences very well. IMDb users have collectively given it a rating of 6.8/10 and Rotten Tomatoes users have scored it a 79% out of 100. If you’re a hardcore horror fan, you should definitely check out “Dog Soldiers.” Final verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars. ALSO: if anyone out there has been able to find the screenplay for this film, send it our way!

Happy death day (the first film for this franchise) was a better film in my opinion. This sequel barely but did have it’s good moments. This sequel was more of a fun/comedy so do not expect a horror slasher film like many people expect. The main girl was good, she is very charismatic, her performance was good. Jessica Rothe knew how to be funny, scared, sad, she pretty much carried the whole film. This sequel was ok, somewhat entertaining and cheesy. There was however scene that really touched my heart, ❤️ it made me reflect on my relationships and also to strive to better the person I was a day before. Happy Death Day 2U is not a film one must watch but neither avoid, up to you if you want to watch it. I give Happy Death Day 2U a C+. #happydeathday2u #happydeathday #happybirthday #datenight #february #valentine #scary #photographer #photography #greatmovie #movieaddict #filmreviews #movielover #moviereviews #moviereview #movies #amc #cinepolis #photooftheday #hollywood #actor #actress #me #usa #mexico #followers #photos #film #celebrity #celebrities

ReviewLens rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Alita is an action movie adapted from Gunnm, a Yukito Kishiro's manga series. It was written by James Cameron and directed by Robert Rodriguez. It is set in the year 2563 , an era after "The Fall" a disastrous war that has left the earth in ruin. It tells the story of how Alita, a female cyborg who was found in a junkyard by Dr Dyson Ido, a cyborg scientist, discovers who she is and her purpose as she learns to adapt to her new environment (Iron city) after loosing her memory. . It is impressive how they were able to perfectly depict Iron city during the post-war era; from the crowded streets to humans with iron body parts, people of different skin colours, violence and crime and the use of high end technology (it really felt like I had traveled to the future, it definitely was not the best looking one) Also the city does live up to it's name . But the most impressive thing had to be how every fight scene was intense: from the sound to the cinematography and great visual effects ( there was a scene where body parts was cut into pieces and I was staggered) and the warriors costumes are astounding. This is probably what every action movie lover's dream is made of. . It is a remarkable cinema experience but the storyline isn't remarkable, hence, you will thoroughly enjoy this movie only if you are about visual effects and you live for fighting scenes. If you are into romance then you might shed a tear or two. If you do not belong to the two categories I mentioned, then you may not be impressed and this might not be the movie for you. . Have you seen the movie? On a scale of 1-10 how entertained were you? Follow ReviewLens for latest movie reviews

Movies 2019 - 53. Murder on a Sunday Morning (2001; directed by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade) . 🌮🌮🌮🌮 (4 tacos) . A Florida teenager is wrongfully accused of the murder of a tourist. Though it certainly seems like it, the fascination with true crime documentaries and miniseries isn’t really anything new. There have been books and documentaries covering shocking real-life cases for quite some time. With this current wave being propelled into the mainstream across various forms of media outlets, I was glad to be able to see one from the beginning of the century that I had never heard of, thanks to a recommendation from @saturdaymorninghorrors. There is certainly a sense of “I’ve heard this story before,” for those who are just now discovering this documentary. A young black teen is caught as a result of racial profiling, forced to confess (or forced to sign a confession never made), and put on trial. The good news here, though, is that he is found innocent — quickly — and the actual killer is found. . This kid, Brenton Butler, seems terribly distraught over everything happening to him from the very beginning. You can feel this severe ache coming from him, a pain someone of his age should not have had to experience. His legal team is a powerhouse. At times, both Patrick McGuinness and Ann Finnell seem both the slick, stereotypical defense attorney, but also profoundly emotionally attached people driven to prove the wrongdoings committed to their client, while proving his innocence. McGuinness, especially, is like a dancer in his arguments. He reminded me of Billy Flynn from Chicago, except actually doing some good. . I have two issues, one about the film, the other about the results of the case. I do wish we would have gotten to see a little more of the victim’s husband. I get in a film about proving a suspect’s innocence, a loved one is probably not all that willing to really talk with a production crew. I just can’t imagine the agony of being someone married to a woman for so long and to have her murdered right in front of you. . {{CONTINUED IN COMMENTS}}

On this week’s StreamTime segment, Mike and Adam picked the same movie — Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky (streaming on Amazon Prime), which was somewhat under appreciated when it came out. Adam thinks you should watch it for the Game of Thrones joke alone. 'Melancholia' Micro-Review: "Director and writer 'Lars von Trier' grasps clumsily at concepts that are at best elementary existentialism and at worst insulting to the audience's intelligence. Despite this, though, Kirsten Dunst proves herself as a legitimate actress turning in the best performance of her career, even if it is a little rough around the edges.⠀ ⠀ It's easy to see what von Trier might have been going for with his vivid images in the first five minutes of the film, but it feels more pretentious than elegant, and it lays the groundwork for the rest of the story to tread on. 'Melancholia' is the kind of movie that people will insist they enjoyed and claim to be brilliant. Its condescending tone and glacial pacing, though, make it nearly impossible to recommend in good conscience. Essentially, it's a bad art house film that will find its niche among snobbish patrons who will obnoxiously argue its merits and supposed deeper meaning while sipping on overpriced imported beers and incorrectly throwing around the term “bourgeoisie.”⠀ ⠀ At its core, there was perhaps the potential for an interesting film in the idea that two worlds were going to collide. However, it’s so weighed down with unoriginal concepts that it fails to make any sort of memorable impressions at all.⠀ ⠀ Well, that’s not entirely true. I distinctly remember being very annoyed I sat through 'Melancholia.'⠀ ⠀ Read full review on starsandpopcorn.com!⠀ ⠀ #nowwatching #🎬 #moviebuff #movie #film #cinema #🎥 #filmlover #movieaddict #Melancholia #instacinema #filmbuff #filmreview #moviefan #moviegeek #moviereviews #currentlywatching #lovemovies #movienerd #filmgeek #moviejunkie #movie🎥 #filmreviews #movies🎬 #movieblogger #microreview #moviereview #whattowatch #starsandpopcorn

Zodiac (2007) – Serial Killer With A Puzzle Cast(s) : Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr., Brian Cox, John Carroll Lynch Director : David Fincher Genre : Crime, Drama, Mystery (R) Studio : Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros Pictures Duration : 157 Minutes Score : 7,6/10 Robert Graysmith : Just because you can’t prove it doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Sampai.......terjadi pembunuhan lagi. From her previous work in “Brave” to “A Place Called Happy“, one thing that goes without saying is that Lowladee is especially skilled in intimate corners and close spaces. She has perfected the art of pulling the audience into the middle of a romance so much so that they feel like it is theirs, and this is not much different. This film is not just brief as far as the run-time is concerned, it’s also brief in characters and brief in storytelling. There is really not much else going on here asides from watching these two characters fall for each other. However, Lowladee manages to execute it in a manner where you are not overwhelmed by the vacancy of the entire thing, instead you are almost entirely pulled in – but not all the way in this case. Plan B is a basic, cute and forgettable love story between two adorable characters and not much else. Sarah Hassan is a beauty to look at who is blessed with enough acting chops to not loose the audience at any point during the sixty minute run-time. However, the real treat here is Catherine Kamau Karanja. Catherine plays Joyce, the ever boisterous but always supportive friend. As the comic relief, she does much to keep the movie running during the moments that would otherwise lag, and her effortless comic timing is able to execute this task to perfection. Hers is the character we all love to love on screen but might not really be able to tolerate in real life. It’s not an original role – in that every other romantic film has one (think of Funke Akindele in “Isoken” and Toni Tones in “Royal Hibiscus Hotel“) – regardless, a proper execution of the character still deserves some applause. 2018 was a testament to a changing Bollywood and the same was even more visible in case of its female actors who have become more competent as thespians than as glam queens. Let's take a look at some of the best female acting performances that made a mark last year. Also, for the record, this listicle was my toughest of the three because there were too many marvellous performances to put out of it. I hope our actresses continue to make my work as difficult in future years. . . Movies 2019 - 52. Foreign Correspondent (1940; written by Charles Bennett and Joan Harrison; directed by Alfred Hitchcock) . 🌮🌮🌮 (3 tacos) . A reporter attempts to expose enemy agents on the eve of the Second World War. If it weren’t for the ending of this film, I would have rated it maybe one entire taco lower. For a Hitchcock film, that makes me feel a little sad. The truth, however, is that Foreign Correspondent feels very clunky and bizarre, at times. Maybe bizarre is the wrong word. Cavalier may be more accurate. A man is blatantly shot in front of a large crowd of people. Everyone can see who did it and they watch as he runs through a crowd to escape WITH NO ONE ATTEMPTING TO STOP HIM, OR GET IN HIS WAY, OR JUST REACT THE FACT THAT HE MURDERED SOMEONE AT ALL. He crosses paths with a police officer who kind of looks at him, thinks over whether or not he should do something, slowly makes a decision, and is then shot by the bad guy. This gives way to a bizarre car chase where the bad guy car miraculously vanishes. To add to that whole sense of cavalier attitude, character’s smile and laugh when the threat of fear or violence appears. See those smiling faces on the poster? Not the first image that would come to mind when thinking about a political thriller from Alfred Hitchcock, but it is an image that appears constantly throughout this film. The ending, however, damn near saves the whole film. It is a thrilling, nail-biter of a climax that leaves you scratching your head how they were able to do such a scene in 1940. I give them much respect for that. If only the rest of the film was that good. Watching this makes me all the more excited to finally sit down with Rebecca soon. That film was Hitchcock’s other work from 1940, and one that earned the Best Picture Oscar. Maybe all of his skill and focus went toward that one. . #movies #movie #film #cinema #movies2019 #moviereview #moviereviews #moviebuff #filmtwitter #filmgeek #schmuckclub #movienerd #cinefile #cinephile #cinefilecommunity #cinephilecommunity #podernfamily #filmreview #moviecritic #filmcritic #movielover #movieaddict #movieenthusiast #review

On Wednesday night I watched Alita which I have been anticipating for a while. Like I have literally been so hype in the last few weeks. THE GOOD- Holy shit the fights in this were just insane. Absolutely perfect. There are 2 main scenes for me that stand out which are a particular bar fight that is in the movie and the motorball sequence that they had a sneak peak of. Like I had so much fun watching these 2 scenes, honestly i was probably more entertained then I have ever been at the movies watching those 2 scenes, but moving on now. Every fight scene is good. Each action sequence is so beautiful and so perfectly crafted. This film is gorgeous. Like it is actually insane how amazing the CGI is. So yeah the action and the visuals as everyone says are the highlights but there is a lot of other good. The world building is great. The emotion is great. You can feel for Alita so much, you can feel for a lot of people actually and each character some qualities that make them feel memorable(not all of them). Honestly I was a bit worried about the 2h20m runtime but I was never bored at all. Like the pacing gets a little weird in the last third of the movie(where the movie itself starts to crumble) but it never gets boring. THE BAD- Ok so my biggest complaint is probably just a compilation of things in the 3rd act. The plot starts to branch off and it all becomes a bit too much. I cant go into detail but the pacing seems to drastically speed up and then like stop and then speed up again and it just gets pretty jumbled towards the end. Then they have a part that is clear sequel bait but its not terrible. Like these complaints arent terrible dont get me wrong, there is nothing like straight up bad about this movie. But along with the pacing and plot towards the end there is a bit of a villian problem. Villain problem as in the higher up corporate assholes if you will of the villains that get the screentime. Like they honestly suffer from being there just a little when they just could have been introduced at the beginning and then left off because they add nothing except making you wish they had more screentime. CONCLUSION- I love this movie so much. 4.5/5 #alita

Betyg: +++

The Favourite: I 1700-talets England har drottning Anne tronen, medan nära vännen Lady Sarah styr landet i hennes ställe. Betyg: ++++ #thefavourite

Movies 2019 - 51. The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016; written by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing; directed by Andre Øvredal) . 🌮🌮 1/2 (2 1/2 tacos) . A father and son duo of coroners attempt to discover the cause of death for a mysterious young woman. I have to be honest right off the bat: this taco rating may be too low. I liked the concept of this film immensely. There is a good story at its core and how the mystery unfolds is really fascinating. The performances aren’t really standouts from either of the leads as both Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox have done better work elsewhere. It may be odd to say that Olwen Catherine Kelly does a good job as the dead body that spends the entire movie naked on a slab, but the film cuts back to her face every so often. Her expression doesn’t change... but it does. Depending on the tone of the scene, there is oddly more fear or fury in her blank expression. That may be a credit to the editing and cinematography over performance, but it is still effective. I think something just felt off with the overall film that I didn’t quite enjoy it as much as I was hoping to. Maybe it is the film’s pacing or lack of clarity aside from the characters positing the exposition that didn’t work for me. It is an okay movie and one that I can certainly understand why people would enjoy it, but I think there are better films that handle this tone or general story elements in much more effective ways. . #movies #movie #film #cinema #movies2019 #moviereview #moviereviews #moviebuff #filmtwitter #filmgeek #schmuckclub #movienerd #cinefile #cinephile #cinefilecommunity #cinephilecommunity #podernfamily #filmreview #moviecritic #filmcritic #movielover #movieaddict #movieenthusiast #review

Fantastic Beasts, The Crimes of Grindelwald (English Below) 5/10 ----------- Many fans of the Harry Potter universe opposed the expanding of Newt's story, prefering the whole wizarding tale to close at that apex; many else however, enjoyed another adventure into the wizarding world. The sequel to Grindelwlad's tale in which Newt Scamander got involved, goes on to unveil many secrets we didn't even pay attention to in the original Harry Potter stories. But do these revelations attract the audience?! Not much. During the entire movie, you'll feel the repetitive styles and lack of creativity. Perhaps revisiting Albus Dumbledore, this time portrayed by Jude Law, would be a nice motivation, but nearly every element used in the movie have been seen at least once in the Harry Potter movies. Even the final surprise of the film, meant to be the wild card, doesn't get you much. Plus some weak CGI uses which degrades the other parts of the film with good CGI. But well, seeing Hogwarts and hearing Harry Potter theme again, have their own value. FGTscore: 5/10

Happy Death Day 2U ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I dont care if I overrated it 🙄 before I go into anything, just please watch the first installment before you dive into this. Its heavily connected and you wont get the feeling if you skip the first one. So the story continues right after HDD1, the scene opens with our blonde stupid-looking friend we love 😂 and yes ypu guess it right, he got stuck into the same pattern as Tree before. He's living his life, get killed, restart. But this time, they decided to give some explanations about the restart. Its a science quantum thing (I dont get it either, and they dont really explain it thorough). They add it but for me it turns out to be a plot hole lol. The blonde guy Ryan did some kind a mistake with the science thing and everything become a big mess. Tree gotta survive another crap. Just like HDD1, the sequel is so freaking funny. We get to fall in love with Tree again, and wow the actress' performance was so great. She always did a great job, beyond expectation, and the narrative is so smart. They add little emotion twist we almost miss, and when we catch it, it strikes right through our hearts. The movie is fun, thrilling, full of jokes, and balanced with a good emotion manipulation, and some nice twists. I think it was a good plot overall, it gets a bit messy at some point, but who cares if we can enjoy it. I just love how they twist everything. Friends can be enemies and enemies can be friends. Its about the past and the present. So much you can learn here. Tree was facing a really hard choice to make, whether she wants to stay in the past (a better version of it) or stay in the present. So yeah you SHOULD WATCH IT! I highly reccommend it 🙌 Weekdays, weekends, whatever just go to the theater and throw your money for this amazing movie. Btw to you guys whom looking for something scary or serious, just go home. Nothing scary and nothing serious here. Its a movie full of joke, even the movie itself is a joke (a good one). And please please please watch the first installment before you go into this one. Happy weekend! #madamreviews #moviereviews #happydeathday2 #happydeathdaytoyou #happydeathday2u #happydeathday

Movies 2019 - 50. She’s Gotta Have It (1986; written and directed by Spike Lee) . 🌮🌮🌮 (3 tacos) . A woman and her three lovers discuss their relationships. I’m going to keep this one brief. While I wasn’t a huge fan of this film, it is one that I can certainly respect as Spike Lee’s debut. It definitely feels like an art house indie and one that was duplicated and twisted as independent cinema found its way. Lee does things that I really like visually with his films. I like the black and white cinematography here as well as his staging and angles. The best thing he does here, however, is appear in his own film. Mars is a great character and is a lot of fun to watch. He also seems to be the most laid back with everything that is happening, which also kind of makes him the easiest for Nola Darling to play with. The Spike Lee trait that always drive me a little crazy is his underscoring. The best film scores add mood to the film, but don’t take away from the visuals and the dialogue. They enhance scenes. In many of Lee’s films, the music is overpowering. There is a notion that maybe the jazz scores that he uses act as a pulse or a blood flow to his films — something that keeps going no matter what happens — but something about the mixing of it or the odd placement takes me out of the film for a bit. This isn’t a sin of this movie, but something I have noticed and felt through a good portion of Lee’s work. It is really a minor flaw from a filmmaker whose work I really admire. His debut is not my favorite, but, as I have said before, everybody has to start somewhere. . #movies #movie #film #cinema #movies2019 #moviereview #moviereviews #moviebuff #filmtwitter #filmgeek #schmuckclub #movienerd #cinefile #cinephile #cinefilecommunity #cinephilecommunity #podernfamily #filmreview #moviecritic #filmcritic #movielover #movieaddict #movieenthusiast #review

Movies 2019 - 49. ParaNorman (2012; written by Chris Butler; directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell) . 🌮🌮🌮🌮 (4 tacos) . A young boy who can talk to ghosts must save his town from the undead. I have owned ParaNorman on blu-ray pretty much since the day it was released. I tried watching it a handful of times before, but had either been exhausted or so busy doing other things that I was too distracted to pay attention to it. Since it came up as an option on my Letterboxd scavenger hunt, I decided to get it watched, unencumbered by any distractions. What a delight! Using stop motion animation enhanced with touches of CGI, ParaNorman is a heart-warming story about self-acceptance, as well as accepting others for their differences. More than that, it is a fun blend of horror and comedy that works incredibly well. Sure, there is a story about bullying and how misunderstanding can lead to a vicious mob mentality, but the film is more concerned with having a good time. And that it does. There is an amazingly talented voice cast who feels like they, too, are having a great time. I know most people love Curb Your Enthusiasm, but my after watching The Goldbergs so much lately, I really like Jeff Garlin. Hearing him as the father here was like getting a little bit more Murray. Kodi Smit-McPhee, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Elaine Stritch and Christopher Mintz-Plasse all lend their talents to this film as well. I am really glad I finally took the opportunity to watch this film as I think it will be a go-to movie in the future. I may not love it quite as much as Coraline, but it is a pretty exceptional piece of work. . #movies #movie #film #cinema #movies2019 #moviereview #moviereviews #moviebuff #filmtwitter #filmgeek #schmuckclub #movienerd #cinefile #cinephile #cinefilecommunity #cinephilecommunity #podernfamily #filmreview #moviecritic #filmcritic #movielover #movieaddict #movieenthusiast #review

Well, we're back to Batman in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins which takes inspiration from Batman: Year One. We know have Christian Bale as Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Gary Oldman as James Gorden and the villains are Ra's al Ghul(Liam Neeson) and Scarecrow(Cillian Murphy). So the plot is Bruce Wayne sees his parents murdered in front of him as a kid. When he grows up, he travels around the world where he joins the League of Shadows and is trained. After burning down their base, he goes back to fight crime in Gotham as the Batman and must stop an evil plan that could destroy Gotham. So I like the realism the film does but it had some problems. I didn't like the out of order events, just go forward, not back and forth. The way Scarecrow was defeated was awful, I didn't care for the Batmobile's design and some of the fight scenes were filmed bad but the rest is amazing. Such memorable dialogue, the characters were amazing, I did like the fight against Ra's at the end. Bale did amazing as Batman. Oldman is my favorite Gordon. I liked the gritty and dark feelings this film did but kept it real. It had an amazing story with a good ending that foreshadows future events. Good movie, give it a watch.....why is there a joker card next to me? #batmanbegins #thedarkknight #thedarkknightrises #batman #brucewayne #alfredpennyworth #jamesgordon #luciusfox #rasalghul #scarecrow #gotham #dc #dccomics #christianbale #christophernolan #michaelcaine #garyoldman #liamneeson #morganfreeman #comicbooks #movies #omega #moviereviews

🎬 Pupille 🎥 Jeanne Herry 🎭 Gilles Lellouche, Sandrine Kiberlain, Élodie Bouchez 8/10 This movie touched me a great deal. It follows the life of a baby from its birth, to his final adoption through his time in foster care. By putting the baby as a main character, it avoids the melodramatic that could have been seen for a subject like this. The actors do a great job and are always on the right tone. The main weakness of this film is that everybody works hard and well for the baby and it doesn’t show enough the problems with the foster care system in France. While this wasn’t the main subject of the film, it made it feel too good to be true. #movie #film #moviereviews #filmreviews #pupille #pupillelefilm #jeanneherry #sandrinekiberlain #gilleslellouche #elodiebouchez

👏🏻👏🏻😊 . . IL PRIMO RE (di Matteo Rovere, Italia-Belgio, 2019, Drammatico, 123 min.) . TRAMA: Nel 753 a.C. . 'Happy Death Day 2U' Micro-Review: One of the most pleasant surprises of 2017 with the original 'Happy Death Day,' which I suppose makes 'Happy Death Day 2U' one of the most pleasant surprises of 2019. Typically, sequels let us down by failing to live up to the original. They try so hard to capture what made the first film great without truly understanding what audiences loved about it to begin with. I’m excited to say that 'Happy Death Day 2U' really gets what made 'Happy Death Day' so special and instead of simply copying that, it builds on it instead.⠀ ⠀ 'Happy Death Day 2U' it’s not a perfect movie. But it’s one that I wholeheartedly endorse seeing. It’s so rare to find a good movie that just wants to be fun. After all, it’s absurd and there are a number of things that don’t make sense within the story, but you’re having so much fun watching it that who cares by the end? Speaking of which, when you see this movie in theaters (and you most definitely should), make sure you stick around for a mid-credit sequence. Hopefully, it’s a teaser for a sequel, because if they keep making movies in the series as good as this one, then I’ll gladly keep paying money to see them. ⠀ ⠀ Read full review on starsandpopcorn.com!⠀ ⠀ #nowwatching #🎬 #moviebuff #movie #film #cinema #🎥 #filmlover #movieaddict #cinephilecommunity #instacinema #filmbuff #filmreview #moviefan #moviegeek #moviereviews #currentlywatching #HappyDeathDay2U #HDD2U #movienerd #filmgeek #moviejunkie #movie🎥 #filmreviews #movies🎬 #movieblogger #microreview #moviereview #whattowatch #starsandpopcorn

#FreeSolo is a 2018 documentary which focuses on Alex Honnold, a prominent free solo rock climber who seeks to become the first person to climb the infamous #ElCapitan cliff without ropes at Yellowstone National Park. This was nominated for an Academy Award this year and is probably the front runner to take the award home. I enjoyed the deconstruction of Alex Honnold and the effects that free solo climbing has on his family, friends and girlfriend. I also enjoyed the technical look into each of the stages of the climb and Alex’s process to tackling each section. The film does meander and plod along in the middle section of the movie until we reach the climax. This hurts the film and really makes #FreeSolo feel about 30 minutes too long. The climax of #FreeSolo is what you’re waiting for and damn does it deliver! No spoilers here but the climax shows us probably the greatest feat of athleticism that I’ve ever seen. Truly breathtaking and stunning. Wow. #FreeSolo is absolutely worth your time and would pair well on a Sunday morning with a fresh cup of coffee. Check it out. 4/5. #FreeSolo #AlexHonnold #ElCapitan #YellowstoneNationalPark #RockClimbing #FreeRider #TheBoulderProblem #documentary #documentaries #films #film #filmreview #filmreviews #movie #movies #moviereviews #moviereview

🎬 The Mule 🎥 Clint Eastwood 🎭 Clint Eastwood, Bradley Cooper, Alison Eastwood 8/10 I have never been a big Eastwood fan. To be fair I haven’t watched a lot of his films, but never have I found a masterpiece among the ones I saw. This also counts for The Mule. Though I do believe it is a great movie and maybe one of his best, I personally see it more as a great movie and not a great film (hoping the difference is discernable for everyone). I enjoyed watching it though #movieopinions #filmopinion #moviereviews #filmreviews #movie #film #themule #themulefilm #clinteastwood #bradlycooper #alisoneastwood

🎬 Green book 🎥 Peter Farrelly 🎭 Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali 9/10 This is so far my favorite movie from 2019 (release date in France). I know the year has just begun but it find a way to treat such a common subject, racism, in a brand new way. It has a lot of humour, but is not a comedy, and it never falls into melodramatic. The two actors were amazing and the directing, even though it was not revolutionary, was right on point #moviereviews #filmreviews #movies #movieopinions #greenbook #greenbookmovie #peterfarrelly #viggomortensen #mahershalaali

‪Blu Ray Review: Poseidon (3.5/5 🍿) When I think of a pure popcorn movie, this is one of the ones I usually think of. I’ve actually never seen the original Poseidon adventure, but I greatly enjoy the reboot.‬ #bluraycollection #bluray #Shipwrecks #Ocean #Ships #Movie #MovieReviews

#TheFavourite is a 2018 period drama-comedy starring #OliviaColman, #RachelWeisz, #EmmaStone, and #NicholasHoult. The film explores the relationship between a broken Queen Anne and her most trusted advisor Sarah Churchill, the Duchess of Marlborough. When a handmaiden enters the fray in an attempt to oust the Duchess and gain favour with the Queen, all hell breaks loose. #TheFavourite is awesome, make no mistake! The film oozes with an originality in it’s writing and script which comes off as incredibly thoughtful yet quirky as hell! #TheFavourite also makes use of humour in such a delightful way that only enhances the experience for the audience. Director #YorgosLanthimos does a fantastic job with this film. The camera work is incredible and enhances each scene. Lanthimos also gets the best of his cast as the biggest takeaway is the performances of the three lead actresses in the film. Colman, Weisz, and Stone were all nominated for #Oscars this year and rightfully so. Each of their characters are developed so expertly and they all go on their own very different journey as the narrative unfolds. Olivia Colman as the useless Queen Anne is probably the best bit of character work I’ve seen in quite some time and should be a front runner for that Oscar. #TheFavourite is an absolute must see, it would have made my top 10 list of 2018 had I seen it in time. Awesome. 5/5. #TheFavourite #OliviaColman #EmmaStone #RachelWeisz #NicholasHoult #YorgosLanthimos #periodfilms #England #film #films #filmreviews #filmreview #movie #movies #moviereviews #moviereview #oldengland #drama #comedy #dramedy #oscars #academyawards #queenanne #sarahchurchill #duchessofMarlborough

‪Blu Ray Review: Lincoln (4.5/5 🍿 ) Daniel Day Lewis crushed it as Lincoln and one a much deserved Oscar, as he usually does when he’s in a movie. Visually this is a stunning Blu-ray and I can’t wait till it’s in 4K. ‬ #4K #AbrahamLincoln #MovieReview #MovieReviews #Movie #BlurayCollection #Bluray

🎬The favourite 🎥Yórgos Lánthimos 🎭Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz 8/10 I think this movie is literally a masterpiece. From the interpretations to the directing everything was amazing. Yórgos Lánthimos takes his subject and put it to the extreme, extreme makeup, extreme reactions to make it more poignant and crude #moviereviews #movies #film #thefavourite #thefavouritemovie #yorgoslanthimos #emmastone #oliviacolman #rachelweisz #movieopinions

Gully Boy- Movie Review. I take back a big lesson today- dare to dream big. Dare to turn your reality to match your dream. Dare to fight for whom you love. Gully Boy is a movie which befits 2019. It is a movie where the hero steals to find a home for himself. It is a movie where the heroine beats up another woman who flirted with her boyfriend. It is a movie where the student overshadows his teacher. It is a movie which shows us the reality of where we are living. It is a movie which reignites the fire within me. There aren’t any surprises, there aren’t any picturesque locales. But there is art. There is music. There are lessons to be learnt and music to be felt. Zoya Akhtar has wowed me yet again with her unflawed direction. We need more filmmakers like her and we need more films like Gully Boy. Each actor played her/his part seamlessly. The musicians, the lyricists- everybody contributed to a perfect cinematic experience. We need more heroes like Murad and more heroines like Safeena. And we definitely need more gurus like MC Sher. Now if there is something I am sure of, it is- apna time aega. . . . . The Other Side of The Wind (2018) - I don’t understand what is on the other side of the wind. ———————————————————— I watched Citizen Kane maybe 7 months ago? I was not into it and the final straw was Rosebud. I get it but you know I was like that’s it? That’s all I have to say until I rewatch it. I liked the performances of the film. They all fit into what ever this movie is. It’s. I don’t even know what is it. I liked how real everything seemed. There was this distinct feeling of an autobiographical picture which I was pushed off by but I wanted to know why. I liked that this movie was interlaced with color and Black and White. The touch of the aspect ration changing when we are in the movie or out of the movie. I liked the different colors in one scene. I didn’t understand a lot of it. It seemed to be someone struggling with their inner demons while make a come back film. I don’t know honestly. I need to talk it out with someone. I was pretty bored for most of it and the editing was REALLY distracting. The dialogue was repetitive. This felt incomplete. Despite all that a 5/10 - Weak Recommend? I’m questioning myself because when I finished I was thinking Not Recommend but the documentary I watched made me want to watch again so Weak Recommend. ———————————————————— Are you going to see/avoid this movie? If you’ve seen it what were your thoughts? 2/10/19
