Oscars Nominations 2019!!! Ok so this isn't the complete list (I'm missing best doco, shorts, song and the technical noms) but here are my thoughts: 🔹So happy to see Black Panther get a nomination! Shows the Academy aren't too set in their ways and afraid to nominate an "unconventional" film (yay superheroes!). I also think Black Panther is just a great film overall - good acting, well written, well directed (Ryan Coogler is a legend and one of my favs) and packs an important message. 🔹I seriously, seriously hope Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't take this one out 😣 🔹I really need to see Vice and Green Book. And Roma. And The Favourite. I'm so behind this year! That's what travelling does I suppose... 🔹I haven't seen most of the movies under the "Best Director" nomination, however know their other work. Definitely a lot of strong contenders! But sad to see B.Cooper shunned though! 🔹What is "Can You Ever Forgive Me" and is Melissa McCarthy actually good in it?? I haven't even heard of this film! . 🔹 Again missing a lot of the "Best Actress" films (this will be a common theme) but I thought Lady Gaga was really good, and from the snippets I've seen Olivia Coleman owns it in The Favourite. She's an incredible actress. 🔹Yassssss to Bradley.C getting a nomination for Best Actor! I actually think his performance was better than Lady Gaga's. Also love Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody (I'm ok with him getting the win, just not the movie getting Best Picture) 🔹Adam Driver is a really underrated actor. I'm yet to see him in something where he doesn't bring his A-Game and Blackkklansman is no different. He kills it! Also I swear Sam Elliott earnt his Best Supporting nomination solely from the scene where Bradley Cooper tells him he looked up to him growing up, and Sam Elliott drives off crying. Amazing stuff. 🔹I'm so intrigued by The Ballad of Buster Scruggs! A Coen Brothers film that is also a Netflix film, whhatt?? That weird title?? So many questions! . 🔹I love Barry Jenkins and am really looking forward to catching If Beale Street Could Talk. 🔹Once again a big yassssss to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse!!! 🔹What do you guys think of this year's nominations?

When The Blair Witch Project came out they did such a brilliant marketing strategy for it making everyone believe it was a true story from video tapes found which in return made the movie that much creepier, this scene was my favorite because it was just so simple. _____________________________________________ #themoviespot #moviecritic #moviecritics #cinephile #cinephiles #behindthescenes #horrormovies #horrorstories #horrormakeup #horrorcon #horrorhound #horrorcosplay #horrorart #horrorcollector #horrorjunkie #horroraddict #horrorfilms #horrorlover #horrorfan #horrorobsessed #horrorlife #horrorfilm #horrorfilms #horrormovie #horrormovies #horrormoviefan #movie #movies #film #films #blairwitchproject

SUPPORTING ACTRESS Snubs and Flubs from @snubsandflubs For this year’s supporting actress race, I don’t think there’s anyone who doesn’t belong. Regina King in “...Beale Street...” is sublime, and I think she will and should win. The only supporting performance I’d slot in ahead of her was by someone who wasn’t eligible; Olivia Coleman in “The Favourite”. If the studio would’ve put her in this category and Weiss and Stone in lead (as it should have been), Coleman would be a slam dunk. It’s really one of the best supporting actress roles in recent memory. However, they didn’t, so we’ll just have to roll with the reality of the situation. A few other actresses I’d like to recognize as my favorite supporting turns of the year come from “Annihilation” and “Private Life”. The entire group of women going out into “the shimmer” were incredible. Tessa Thompson (who was also outstanding “Sorry to Bother You”), Gina Rodriguez, and Tuva Novotny held this film together in a very real place with their well-drawn and deep character work. Kayli Carter was a revelation in “Private Life”. Despite only having a few acting credits, she held her own alongside acting vets like Katheryn Hahn and Paul Giamatti. The precocious, free-spirited “Sadie Barrett” is the type of character that often comes off as grating and unrealistic. Carter plays it in a way that’s nothing less than endearing and magnetic. . . . #oscars #oscars2019 #snubsandflubs #oscarsnubs #oliviacoleman #annihilationmovie #privatelifemovie @kaylicarter @hereisgina @tessamaethompson #tuvanovotny #movies #moviecritic

3/5 The theater was packed on Valentine’s Day. This was seemingly the perfect choice for couples to see on V-day. Couples and my group of single friends that is. I enjoy watching #rebelwilson and I don’t know why. She probably isn’t lead actress material and couldn’t quite deliver the acting chops to carry this film. The premise is fun. She wakes up in a #romcom world. The delivery of that concept falls flat quite a bit. You can tell what they were trying to do but it felt forced. That being said, I laughed plenty of times and smiled throughout. It’s pretty clean which if you read my review on #whatmenwant then you know I appreciate that. When it was over we reflected on the best bits and complained about where it went wrong. I think you’ll be entertained by it just ignore its problems. Comment if you see it. #valentines #romantic #isntitromantic #datenight #movie #movies #moviereview #moviecritic #moviebuff #movierating #critic #review #rating #film #cinema

#28DaysinBlackCinema Coming to America 1988 I honestly dont know what to say to people that havent seen Coming to America other than it is an absolutely TIMELESS comedic masterpiece. I feel like a lot of comedies today try to force feed you the punchline at the expense of the overall quality of the film. Not with this movie, it's a coming of age tale that doesnt sacrifice substance at the expense of a amazing joke. Plus BLACK ROYALTY! What was your favorite scene from Coming to America? Mine has to be Jackson Heights own Mr. Randy Watson! Rating System: 4K, 1080p, 720p, 480p 360p, 240p Quality/Rating: 8K

Creed! I love a good boxing movie. It motivates you, gives you goosebumps and pumps you up. This movie did exactly that. I really enjoyed this. I loved all the rocky movies back in the day. Creed Vs Drago again. Loved it. Was so good to see some of the old characters back. It was very much like rocky 4. Lost, went back to old school training, come back and kicked ass. I do Recommend watching this movie if you were ever a Rocky fan.

The Prodigy. On a scale of 1-10 I give this movie a 7.5. Movie was very different. Not your typical thriller. . 🍿🍿🍿🍿 . . #FilmReview #FilmReviews #MovieCritic #FilmsAndSeries #Recomendaciones #PeliculasRecomendadas #Pelis #moviereview #filmfan #Cinephile #Cinefilos #Cinephilecommunity #filmaddict #movienews #seriesrecomendadas #cinefan #filmgeek #filmnerds

#alitabattleangel: I can’t compare this film with its manga source material, but it seems to me that Cameron and Rodriguez were the right team to bring this story to life in such a kinetically entertaining fashion. This isn’t cerebral or even highly original science-fiction. It’s sci-fi lite, designed to engage a young audience through pure escapism. On that level, Alita: Battle Angel succeeds in what it sets out to do. Read my full review at www.leonardmaltin.com. Les Chatouilles, Andréa Bescond, 2018. (Critique de novembre 2018) @andrea_bescond @ericmetayer4 @karinviard @gringe PARFAIT. INDISPENSABLE. BOULEVERSANT. Tout est poignant, brillant, bouleversant dans ce film qui ne peut laisser indemne, qui scotche au siège, fait vivre un tourbillon d'émotions. Andréa Bescond livre un tour de force en adaptant sa pièce de théâtre à l'écran. Pour son sujet personnel poignant qui traite frontalement de la pédophilie, tout son art se condense pour raconter son histoire avec brio. L'enfance au passé et la thérapie psychologique au présent se mélangent et se répondent avec une fluidité, un humour, une intelligence narratives et techniques impressionnantes, pour se souvenir avec une froideur glaçante des viols et une poésie magnifique des beaux moments, et apporter le recul, la réflexion difficile et libératrice sur le traumatisme de la jeunesse. Le casting absolument parfait émeut par sa sensibilité (parmi tant d'autres, la scène de la voiture avec Clovis Cornillac) ou terrifie par l'horreur de ses paroles et ses actions (Pierre Deladonchamps évidemment, mais aussi Karin Viard, différemment glaçante). Quand à la musique et à la danse, elles forment l'apothéose artistique, déchaînant les cris que ne peut plus pousser la voix grâce au corps, dans des séquences au dynamisme percutant. Bref, tout, du scénario au jeu en passant par les techniques cinématographiques, concorde à faire des Chatouilles un des films les plus forts de 2018. #leschatouilles #danse #colere #andreabescond #ericmetayer #karinviard #cloviscornillac #pierredeladonchamps e #paris #autobiographie #pedophilie #emotion #performance #critique #critic #film #movie #moviecritic #critique #passion #art #cinephile #cinephage #paris #moviereview #cinephilecommunity #filmcritique #movielover #filmcritic #filmreview #critic #instamovie

June- A feel good coming of the age story of June which starts with her +2 life and ends as an adult. From the warmth of friendship to delight of first kiss to heart breaks - @ahammed_khabeer catches all the emotions right. Added by brilliant performance of all the cast especially @rajishavijayan and the charming @sarjanokhalid , June will make u happy when the end credits roll. Mesmerizing songs by @iamifthi and brilliant cinematography by @jithin_stanislaus adds to the soul of the film. On the downside, the slow pace in the 1st half and certain scenes (like intro,fight) stretches the movie. And just when I thought that director lost his grip in the climax, he bounced back with a perfect ending. Clap Clap Ahammed Khabeer. You are a promising addition to the new young lot of directors in #mollywood . Waiting for more craft from you. And Rajisha deserves more movies. Movies 2019 - 53. Murder on a Sunday Morning (2001; directed by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade) . 🌮🌮🌮🌮 (4 tacos) . A Florida teenager is wrongfully accused of the murder of a tourist. Though it certainly seems like it, the fascination with true crime documentaries and miniseries isn’t really anything new. There have been books and documentaries covering shocking real-life cases for quite some time. With this current wave being propelled into the mainstream across various forms of media outlets, I was glad to be able to see one from the beginning of the century that I had never heard of, thanks to a recommendation from @saturdaymorninghorrors. There is certainly a sense of “I’ve heard this story before,” for those who are just now discovering this documentary. A young black teen is caught as a result of racial profiling, forced to confess (or forced to sign a confession never made), and put on trial. The good news here, though, is that he is found innocent — quickly — and the actual killer is found. . This kid, Brenton Butler, seems terribly distraught over everything happening to him from the very beginning. You can feel this severe ache coming from him, a pain someone of his age should not have had to experience. His legal team is a powerhouse. At times, both Patrick McGuinness and Ann Finnell seem both the slick, stereotypical defense attorney, but also profoundly emotionally attached people driven to prove the wrongdoings committed to their client, while proving his innocence. McGuinness, especially, is like a dancer in his arguments. He reminded me of Billy Flynn from Chicago, except actually doing some good. . I have two issues, one about the film, the other about the results of the case. I do wish we would have gotten to see a little more of the victim’s husband. I get in a film about proving a suspect’s innocence, a loved one is probably not all that willing to really talk with a production crew. I just can’t imagine the agony of being someone married to a woman for so long and to have her murdered right in front of you. . {{CONTINUED IN COMMENTS}}

Hotshot Japenese director Hirokazu Kore-eda known mostly for his dramatic family dramas enters murder territory with The Third Murder. The film is assured from Kore-eda but I noticed that this film wasn’t reviewed as well as most of Kore-eda’s past films. For one thing there isn’t a ‘friendly’ face, kind of ploy, that goes with many film productions, a ‘who to root for’ thing that audiences thirst for. That sort of pin the dot on the viewer does upset our inner fantasies. Here Kore-eda’s main character is a man who certainly is on the outskirts of Japanese society, a man who murdered for one thing, and it seems he’s done so again. The film is essentially a Lawyer and his client, a proficient lier who changes his ‘story’ whenever it befits him. The problem with all this is that one wonders where Kore-eda is going with it, what will be revealed? There is the murder itself, a killing by the shoreside, and also that the main character knew the victims teen daughter. But then it appears that she may be something of a lier as well. We can’t be sure and when that happens in film, you’d better dig in deep and here Kore-eda simply doesn’t have the goods scripturally. Reading about this film, Kore-eda, who is the screenwriter as well, gathered some of Japan’s actual lawyers and had a number of ‘mock’ trials, so that he could put down ‘what goes on’. We get the cerebral thrust but the film lacks movement of the killer and evidence. Kore-eda would have been better off on the pavement with his ‘fishy’ killer. 6.8 Out Of 10 In the end the film is slack because the killer is a liar 🤥 in one way or another, he’s a hardened criminal with too much prison time on his hands. We never quite know if he did or didn’t commit these crimes, yet there is no evidence to be sure he didn’t. Kore-eda may need to ‘refresh’ his view on film, here he is like a bird without wings, not proficient in the need for real facts and story in Murder cinema. #CLAYSMOVIEREVIEWS #movie #movies #film #films #cinema #instamovie #instamovies #moviefan #moviereview #review #critic #filmcritic #critical #moviecritic #CINEMA #THETHIRDMURDER #HIROKAZUKOREEDA #JAPAN

2018 was a testament to a changing Bollywood and the same was even more visible in case of its female actors who have become more competent as thespians than as glam queens. Let's take a look at some of the best female acting performances that made a mark last year. Also, for the record, this listicle was my toughest of the three because there were too many marvellous performances to put out of it. I hope our actresses continue to make my work as difficult in future years. . . Movies 2019 - 52. Foreign Correspondent (1940; written by Charles Bennett and Joan Harrison; directed by Alfred Hitchcock) . 🌮🌮🌮 (3 tacos) . A reporter attempts to expose enemy agents on the eve of the Second World War. If it weren’t for the ending of this film, I would have rated it maybe one entire taco lower. For a Hitchcock film, that makes me feel a little sad. The truth, however, is that Foreign Correspondent feels very clunky and bizarre, at times. Maybe bizarre is the wrong word. Cavalier may be more accurate. A man is blatantly shot in front of a large crowd of people. Everyone can see who did it and they watch as he runs through a crowd to escape WITH NO ONE ATTEMPTING TO STOP HIM, OR GET IN HIS WAY, OR JUST REACT THE FACT THAT HE MURDERED SOMEONE AT ALL. He crosses paths with a police officer who kind of looks at him, thinks over whether or not he should do something, slowly makes a decision, and is then shot by the bad guy. This gives way to a bizarre car chase where the bad guy car miraculously vanishes. To add to that whole sense of cavalier attitude, character’s smile and laugh when the threat of fear or violence appears. See those smiling faces on the poster? Not the first image that would come to mind when thinking about a political thriller from Alfred Hitchcock, but it is an image that appears constantly throughout this film. The ending, however, damn near saves the whole film. It is a thrilling, nail-biter of a climax that leaves you scratching your head how they were able to do such a scene in 1940. I give them much respect for that. If only the rest of the film was that good. Watching this makes me all the more excited to finally sit down with Rebecca soon. That film was Hitchcock’s other work from 1940, and one that earned the Best Picture Oscar. Maybe all of his skill and focus went toward that one. . #movies #movie #film #cinema #movies2019 #moviereview #moviereviews #moviebuff #filmtwitter #filmgeek #schmuckclub #movienerd #cinefile #cinephile #cinefilecommunity #cinephilecommunity #podernfamily #filmreview #moviecritic #filmcritic #movielover #movieaddict #movieenthusiast #review

Movies 2019 - 51. The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016; written by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing; directed by Andre Øvredal) . 🌮🌮 1/2 (2 1/2 tacos) . A father and son duo of coroners attempt to discover the cause of death for a mysterious young woman. I have to be honest right off the bat: this taco rating may be too low. I liked the concept of this film immensely. There is a good story at its core and how the mystery unfolds is really fascinating. The performances aren’t really standouts from either of the leads as both Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox have done better work elsewhere. It may be odd to say that Olwen Catherine Kelly does a good job as the dead body that spends the entire movie naked on a slab, but the film cuts back to her face every so often. Her expression doesn’t change... but it does. Depending on the tone of the scene, there is oddly more fear or fury in her blank expression. That may be a credit to the editing and cinematography over performance, but it is still effective. I think something just felt off with the overall film that I didn’t quite enjoy it as much as I was hoping to. Maybe it is the film’s pacing or lack of clarity aside from the characters positing the exposition that didn’t work for me. It is an okay movie and one that I can certainly understand why people would enjoy it, but I think there are better films that handle this tone or general story elements in much more effective ways. . #movies #movie #film #cinema #movies2019 #moviereview #moviereviews #moviebuff #filmtwitter #filmgeek #schmuckclub #movienerd #cinefile #cinephile #cinefilecommunity #cinephilecommunity #podernfamily #filmreview #moviecritic #filmcritic #movielover #movieaddict #movieenthusiast #review

Movies 2019 - 50. She’s Gotta Have It (1986; written and directed by Spike Lee) . 🌮🌮🌮 (3 tacos) . A woman and her three lovers discuss their relationships. I’m going to keep this one brief. While I wasn’t a huge fan of this film, it is one that I can certainly respect as Spike Lee’s debut. It definitely feels like an art house indie and one that was duplicated and twisted as independent cinema found its way. Lee does things that I really like visually with his films. I like the black and white cinematography here as well as his staging and angles. The best thing he does here, however, is appear in his own film. Mars is a great character and is a lot of fun to watch. He also seems to be the most laid back with everything that is happening, which also kind of makes him the easiest for Nola Darling to play with. The Spike Lee trait that always drive me a little crazy is his underscoring. The best film scores add mood to the film, but don’t take away from the visuals and the dialogue. They enhance scenes. In many of Lee’s films, the music is overpowering. There is a notion that maybe the jazz scores that he uses act as a pulse or a blood flow to his films — something that keeps going no matter what happens — but something about the mixing of it or the odd placement takes me out of the film for a bit. This isn’t a sin of this movie, but something I have noticed and felt through a good portion of Lee’s work. It is really a minor flaw from a filmmaker whose work I really admire. His debut is not my favorite, but, as I have said before, everybody has to start somewhere. . #movies #movie #film #cinema #movies2019 #moviereview #moviereviews #moviebuff #filmtwitter #filmgeek #schmuckclub #movienerd #cinefile #cinephile #cinefilecommunity #cinephilecommunity #podernfamily #filmreview #moviecritic #filmcritic #movielover #movieaddict #movieenthusiast #review

#thefavouritemovie #moviecritic

Movies 2019 - 49. ParaNorman (2012; written by Chris Butler; directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell) . 🌮🌮🌮🌮 (4 tacos) . A young boy who can talk to ghosts must save his town from the undead. I have owned ParaNorman on blu-ray pretty much since the day it was released. I tried watching it a handful of times before, but had either been exhausted or so busy doing other things that I was too distracted to pay attention to it. Since it came up as an option on my Letterboxd scavenger hunt, I decided to get it watched, unencumbered by any distractions. What a delight! Using stop motion animation enhanced with touches of CGI, ParaNorman is a heart-warming story about self-acceptance, as well as accepting others for their differences. More than that, it is a fun blend of horror and comedy that works incredibly well. Sure, there is a story about bullying and how misunderstanding can lead to a vicious mob mentality, but the film is more concerned with having a good time. And that it does. There is an amazingly talented voice cast who feels like they, too, are having a great time. I know most people love Curb Your Enthusiasm, but my after watching The Goldbergs so much lately, I really like Jeff Garlin. Hearing him as the father here was like getting a little bit more Murray. Kodi Smit-McPhee, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Elaine Stritch and Christopher Mintz-Plasse all lend their talents to this film as well. I am really glad I finally took the opportunity to watch this film as I think it will be a go-to movie in the future. I may not love it quite as much as Coraline, but it is a pretty exceptional piece of work. . #movies #movie #film #cinema #movies2019 #moviereview #moviereviews #moviebuff #filmtwitter #filmgeek #schmuckclub #movienerd #cinefile #cinephile #cinefilecommunity #cinephilecommunity #podernfamily #filmreview #moviecritic #filmcritic #movielover #movieaddict #movieenthusiast #review

[TV Series - 2014] Misaeng / Incomplete Life / 미생 . 📝 Review : I know director Kim Won Suk from his previous superb project "My Mister". Misaeng is one of other drama he made. He is an expert in making drama with strong character exploration. Both My Mister and Misaeng have a perspective style that explores deep and detailed character life. Misaeng tells about the daily life of employee in the company with all their problem. However, even though it's about daily activities, each episode is wrap connected to each other without looking segmented like common daily story with different topic each episode. The stories are not far from employee conflict and job challenge. As an employee, maybe you are genuinely can feel the bitterness of the world of work, and that's all intimidately rational with our own lives. There are many life lessons written from the problems faced by every single character here, and  it give us, or at least for me, a major influence. I liked the way Kim Won Suk give the supporting cast a spot in every conflict that occurred. When the atmosphere becomes intense, they're not just a pacing figure on the set, but their respond see the conflict that occurs makes things more real as how it should be. It is a good style from him in creating arts direction. If you see Misaeng as a full compact of drama, it has a good story, superb indeed, with thousands of moral value, despite the boredom you'll meet in following the storyline because of the stuffy work things. Nevertheles, Misaeng is a drama about work life that is frontal, honest and transparent that make it deserve our spotlight attention. I give my honor to all these drama casts, especially Lee Sung Min. He acted really well, and the characters he played had strong and valuable characteristics in this world. Mr. Oh Sang Sik (Lee Sung Min) is a golden thing in this drama.

There are certain films that stay with you long after you’ve shuffled out of the theater and talked about it with a friend on the way home. Films that transcend the standard talk of box office numbers and light a fire in the heart. Gully Boy is one such film. It captures the journey of the shy closet-rapper Murad as he attempts to derail his trajectory toward mediocrity and ascend to heights that seem far beyond his reach. If Gully Boy had just settled as a retread of 8 Mile in an Indian syntax, the chaotic Dharavi slums would have been enough to infuse the film with a life of its own. As it turns out though, the film is about so much more – exploring pertinent themes without cluttering the plot. At its core though it is about a revolution that grows louder every day – using the story of Murad aka Gully Boy to capture the surging hip-hop scene in India. It’s brash and unpolished - pulsating with an unfiltered defiance in every beat, every word, every rhyme. Murad, just like Indian hip-hop, cannot be confined to a label or a box. He is shy and distant and yet he yearns for the spotlight and the attention. His head is lowered and he speaks in hushed tones and yet his songs demand to be yelled on microphones with an unbridled pride. Rap isn’t just an escape for him. It is, as his lyrics say, the fire that will melt his shackles. Ranveer Singh delivers, arguably, a career-best performance - showing an uncharacteristic restraint juxtaposed with a simmering desire that drives the words from his mind to the mic. Alia Bhatt plays the headstrong and driven girlfriend Safeena to a T – sparkling in every frame in some truly memorable scenes. Siddhant Chaturvedi playing MC Sher makes a head-turning debut as a rapper that wears the chip on his shoulder like a comfortable hoodie – his angst hidden by a smile, his pain with a carefree mask. As one can expect, the music isn’t just a soundtrack in this film, it is the beating heart of every frame. Even if Gully Boy was a mediocre film – its music would have ensured that it would be treated as game-changing for Indian hip-hop. But what we got instead is a rousing epic that will go down as a touchstone in Indian cinema.

My Bloody Valentine (1981) review: [6.5/10] Since it's valentine's day (a day late) Let's get killing with the original My Bloody Valentine! This was a simple low budget canadian movie. And tells us the story of the murderous Harry Warden. Which turned out the killer wasn't Harry, It was Axel the whole time! A pretty small twist, Unlike the 2009 remake which had a better twist but a really bad story, and bad CGI deaths. I do like the kills in this movie though, Especially the most iconic one, The axe through the eye kill! My favorite, I really wish NECA would make a figure of The Miner. Even though this movie isn't the best slasher movie, It's just a classic with all the elements it put in and all the classic scenes, Especially the classic kills! - Fun Fact: The original My Bloody Valentine is Quentin Tarantino's favorite slasher film. - #moviereview #movie #movies #film #filmreview #review #cinema #moviereviews #films #moviebuff #reviews #movietime #movienight #movielover #cinephile #moviecritic #filmreviews #horror #creed #hollywood #filmcritic #action #critic #podcast #comedy #movieaddict #moviegeek #filmbuff #movieposter #mybloodyvalentine

“A Star is Born (2018)”, starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, is a love story of 2 musicians. A rock star falls for a girl who is shy when it comes to singing her own songs. He takes her to his tours and with their collaboration, she becomes a pop star. Things get sparkly for the pop star, whereas things get rocky for the rock star. Bradley Cooper's acting is beyond great. He acts, he sings, he directs and he co-writes. Is there a thing this man can not do? Oh well, he didn't play guitar for real, even though he took guitar and piano lessons for the movie. He just keeps getting better and better. I'm kind of bummed his first directorial debut was an Oscar snub though. Because he did such a good job. Let's cross our fingers that he will keep directing movies and will finally receive an Oscar nomination in the future. Lady Gaga's voice, which has always been so mesmerizing, is so raw and pure in this movie. It felt so nice to see Gaga as a natural ordinary girl. Although she has a talent for acting, I find her role quite safe: a worldwide famous popstar portrays a rising popstar. But that wouldn't be a fair thing to say because it was more than just that which means she really felt her character. In a way, she gave it all. Her chemistry with Bradley Cooper is amazing. I was surprised because I thought no one could top Cooper's on-screen chemistry with Jennifer Lawrence. I guess, I was sort of wrong. Sam Elliott got nominated for best supporting actor and he was quite good. I just wish they would give more screentime. "A Star is Born", with 8 Oscar nominations, will definitely grab some Oscars. At least in the music/song category. Its #favoritemoviescenefriday today! This week The Cinema-Fan highlights the “Heavy Lies the Crown” scene from The Departed! The acting by both Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson is phenomenal, not just in this scene, but throughout the entirety of the film. I chose the less explicit section of this scene, but rumor has it that the gun Nicholson pulls on DiCaprio towards the beginning was an impromptu decision and actually took DiCaprio by surprise, adding to the realism of fear in his eyes. The dialogue is great, and DiCaprio does a fantastic job at expressing the anxiety and fear his character is feeling. Nicholson also does a great job at playing an insane, murderous mafia leader. Great scene! . . . #thecinemafan #movielovers #movies #movietime🎬 #moviereview #cinema #film #cinematography #moviewatcher #filmreview #movieratings #favoritemovies #moviereviews #filmcritic #moviecritic #filmnight #filmfan #moviefan #hollywood #cinema

. . #utoya22july #erikpoppe #cinemalinea #moviereview #movielovers #moviecritic #cinemalovers #filmlover #filmgeek #cinephile #moviebuff #filmbuff #cinemabuff #sinema #reviewfilmindonesia #moviegoers

While Bolt got lost he though he had powers , but he did not that only in films he gets the power. Were the movie took place between a reality action and acting with harm. Rate 8.2/10 Opinion This is one of the best movies and I think it has a good story. In addition, the movie needs a little more action and show more evidence. Cold Pursuit (2019) Rating: B- I was really excited going into this movie. I heard it was not the traditional Taken-style Liam Neeson movie and that peaked my interest. While it succeeds in that aspect, it falls short in others. This movie tells the story of Nels Coxman, a snowplow driver whose son is killed. After this, he sets out to kill all those responsible. This plot it itself is a bit overdone but it manages to feel fresh due to the setting of the story in Colorado and also how the story unfolds. However, the plot has issues with what it wants to be. For the first half of the movie, it’s almost entirely focused on Liam Neeson’s character. The 2nd half then is focused on these other characters that have little importance to the story. These parts divert greatly from the actual story being told and makes it feel clunky and disjointed. They should have just focused on the character of Coxman for the majority of the time to better advance the story. There are also some parts to the story that are never explained or resolved that were major points of the story. All throughout the story are small comedic moments of dark humor. Some of these worked but some of them really did not at all. Once again it makes the movie feel less coherent when there’s a story about a dad avenging his son but there’s comedic moments oddly placed everywhere. Liam Neeson in this movie though is very good. He gives a good performance that had emotion but also comedic moments that worked very well. The surrounding cast is okay for the most part but Neeson is the clear standout. This is a good looking movie with an interesting story that ultimately was hampered by unevenness in the plot and tone. I still had a pretty fun time watching this though. ➡️ #coldpursuit #hanspettermoland #liamhemsworth #emmyrossum #tombateman #juliajones #lauradern #williamforsythe #actor #actress #acting #follow #followme #f4f #instagood #action #actionmovie #movie #movies #denver #denvercolorado #colorado #snow #moviereview #moviereviews #moviecritic

#45: 10 Things I Hate About You - B- The most perfect cheesy rom-com for anyone from the 90s. So if you were born in the 80s or 90s, you've seen and love this movie. It started a list of love movies with Joseph Gordon Levitt and started every girl's favorite actor, Heath Ledger. This is the one that won everyone's hearts. It is cheesy from start to finish and it's supposed to be. From very stereotypical cliques (which they do a great job parodying) to dancing on table at parties, and writing notes in each other's lockers. The whole premise is cheesy too. But that's okay. It was perfectly made that way. If you haven't seen it, just look up Heath Ledger singing, "Can't take my eyes off of you." You'll love it. It's a fun movie and was a great one for Valentine's Day. It's really funny too! Bernard the Elf from the Santa Claus is inadvertently hilarious in it. As good as it is, it's not a phenomenal movie, but perfect to watch with that special someone. Enjoy traveling back to the late 90s and watch the movie in which every guy wished he was Heath Ledger and every girl with him. * * * #atmicalizzi #365moviesin365days #micsreviews #movie #movies #movielover #moviecritic #movienight #10thingsihateaboutyou #heathledger #moviereviewer #romance #familymovienight #movielover #moviebuff #movietime #comedy #review #film #filmcritic #funny #drama #netflix #cinephile #hollywood #josephgordonlevitt #frogduckproductions #romcom #valentinesday2019

Title: Knight of Shadows: Between Yin & Yang Genre: Fantasy, adventure #andcutREVIEW #knightofshadows #2019 QUICK REVIEW: Alasan terbesar kami menonton film ini ya karena ada Jackie Chan, sayangnya hal itu tidak cukup untuk membuat penonton puas. . . . #movietrailer #beritafilm #infofilm #indonesia #moviereview #film #movie #movies #filmreview #cinema #moviereviews #moviebuff #cinephile #movielover #films #filmcritic #reviews #movienight #movietime #moviecritic #hollywood #filmlover #filmbuff #cinephilecommunity #netflix #infofilm #filmindonesia

Hush (2016) Horror/Thriller Rating: 🍩🍩🍩🍩.3 I absolutely loved this movie. One of the coolest ideas for a plot in a long time. Super cool take on an unfortunate situation. The woman in this movie is a deaf writer and she goes to her “retreat” in the middle of nowhere. Then a masked killer turns up and begins to stalk her. The momentum really starts to pick up once that killer realizes she’s deaf. Very, very cool movies. Highly recommend watching it. . . . #moviereview #movie #movies #film #filmreview #cinema #review #moviereviews #films #movielover #horror #movietime #movienight #moviebuff #cinephile #bollywood #netflix #reviews #filmreviews #moviecritic #podcast #movieaddict #filmbuff #action #moviegeek #filmcritic #hollywood #marvel #drama #bhfyp

“The Strangers” (2008) Horror/Slasher Rating: 🍩🍩🍩.5 This movie is based on true events, which is scary enough to think about. I noticed a lot of build up in intensity and fear at the perfect moments. Basically there’s a couple staying at the mans fathers vacation home and the couple is clearly having some issues with their relationship. What starts as (what seems to be) a simple address mistake, turns into a full blown break in. All of that for a pack of cigarettes. The fight or flight is very obvious throughout the film. I enjoyed watching it and the sequel to this film is on its way March 2019. It’s worth a watch. . . . #moviereview #movie #movies #film #filmreview #cinema #review #moviereviews #films #movielover #horror #movietime #movienight #moviebuff #cinephile #bollywood #netflix #reviews #filmreviews #moviecritic #podcast #movieaddict #filmbuff #action #moviegeek #filmcritic #hollywood #marvel #drama #bhfyp

• RATE: 3.5/5.0 • #movie #film #timeloop #multiverse #killer #sequel #moviestrike #movieblog #moviecritic #instafilm #instamovie #moviestagram #moviegram #moviejunkie #moviegeek #moviegoers #movielover #filmstagram #movietime #filmstagram

#TheLegoMovie2TheSecondPart (2019): 6/10 ⠀ The Lego Movie 2 is the direct sequel to the 2014 original and stars returning cast members Chris Pratt (‘Jurassic World’), Elizabeth Banks (‘Power Rangers’) and Will Arnett (‘Arrested Development’). We return to Bricksburg some five years on, a world savaged by Duplo brick invaders and turned into an post-apocalyptic wasteland now known as “Apocalypseburg”. Emmet’s friends are kidnapped by the leader of the Duplo army and taken to the “Systar System” to be brainwashed into joining the Duplo cause. ⠀ The first Lego Movie proved a real breath of fresh air and something different from the usual franchise films, sequels and Disney Pixar animations. It was an absolute blast with outstanding Lego animation, and even cleverly broke the fourth wall to show us what was really going on, which proved a nice touch. For ‘The Second Part’, we get the same quirky animation, the same typical in-jokes and references, and the same explosion of excitable energy, and yet, overall the film still feels strangely flat and a little difficult to follow in places. ⠀ There is still plenty to enjoy including new songs, one in particular that will almost certainly get stuck in your head, but the jokes don’t feel as fresh and hilarious as the first, and a lot of the film takes place in the real world which feels a little too on the nose for our liking. It’s adequate enough, enjoyable enough, but doesn’t quite reach the levels of its predecessor, or even that of ‘The Lego Batman Movie’. Of course, it’s always going to be difficult to deliver the same thrills and surprises again now that we know what the films are all about. A shame though. ⠀ #FilmReview #MovieReview #Film #Movie #Review #FilmCritic #MovieCritic #Cinephile #TheLegoMovie #TheLegoMovie2 #TheLegoMovie2Review #TheLegoMovie2FilmReview #TheLegoMovie2MovieReview #ChrisPratt #ElizabethBanks #WillArnett #TiffanyHaddish #StephanieBeatriz #AlisonBrie #NickOfferman #CharlieDay #WillFerrell #ChanningTatum #JonahHill #RichardAyoade #JasonMomoa #CobieSmulders #RalphFiennes #Lego

#AlitaBattleAngel (2019): 7/10 ⠀ Alita: Battle Angel is based on the popular Japanese manga ‘Gunnm’ by Yukito Kishiro, and boasts an splendid cast of Christoph Waltz (‘Django Unchained’), Jennifer Connelly (‘A Beautiful Mind’), Mahershala Ali (‘Green Book’), and Rosa Salazar (The ‘Maze Runner’ film series) as the powerful advanced cyborg Alita. The film has long been plagued by production delays largely thanks to James Cameron’s work on the ‘Avatar’ film franchise, Robert Rodriguez (‘Planet Terror’) stepping in here as director. ⠀ Anita’s setting is immersive and crammed full off intriguing cyborgs and technology, accompanied by popular brutal sport “Motorball”. The script may prove lacklustre and come across a little cheesy, but it’s really the action set pieces and fight sequences that make Alita an enjoyable experience, that and a complete disregard for the film’s rating with some inventive death sequences and cyborg violence. Despite her absolute ferociousness, Alita is also a likeable and endearing character which only serves to make the film more accessible. She has no memory of her past life but continues to question her existence, a theme that is touched on throughout the film. Just what does it mean to be human? ⠀ The film does end abruptly and feels like a setup for a follow-up, but certainly leaves us wanting more having only really scratched the surface of what is to come in the series and unknown world surrounding Iron City, and should ‘Battle Angel’ manage to break even, we’d bank on a sequel sooner rather than later. ⠀ #FilmReview #MovieReview #Film #Movie #Review #FilmCritic #MovieCritic #Cinephile #AlitaFilmReview #AlitaMovieReview #AlitaReview #AlitaBattleAngelReview #JamesCameron #RobertRodriguez #Manga #ChristopheWaltz #JenniferConnelly #Gunnm #YukitoKishiro #EizaGonzález #RosaSalazar #MahershalaAli #LanaCondor #MichelleRodriguez #EdSkrein #CasperVanDien #JackieEarleHaley #ElleLaMont #JeffFahey
