This is one of my favorite photos I've taken. These little Burmese girls are known as Thilashin, or novitiates of Buddhism. They are recognizable by their pink robes, orange shawl, and shaved heads.
This particular group was happy to have me take their photo, but I love this image a lot because of the whole array of expressions on their faces! It reminds me of how they are seen one way but are still just sweet little girls learning and training in the peaceful ways of Buddhism.
