I love how much we’ve changed as people over the past few years. Perfect lines, ‘perfect’ lives, and general perfection isn’t what people are wishing and striving for as much these days. It’s freehand lines like this, proper reality, videos of us literally just out of bed talking about our lives instead of faking our lives to look better to people who don’t know us. I love that honesty is cool 😎. Can you believe there are now courses on ‘how to be you’ because we’ve been taught for so long to want to be like others?
I love the freehand paint lines in this photo. I love that someone just probably picked up a brush and just went for it instead of panicking about it not being even or balanced, because however it turned out is fine and right. I love that’s the direction social media is going too. Freehand.
This thought came to me last night while writing my ebook and typing about how perfection won’t help you build a following on Instagram. Isn’t that a crazy subject?
It’s crazy because once upon a time that’s what you had to be. The ‘best’ people were those who’s lives looked like dreams, those who we aspired to be instead of those who inspired us. Ridic.
I love that to build an online brand now, it’s better to keep it real, and that we’re now openly lolling at and sharing our misfortunes instead of feeling like failures for apparently never being good enough. There’s still a long way to go but I love seeing the changes.
I love this simple photo. To me it says a ton. Yay for change. Perfection sucks.
Oh and ps: I posted a sneaky Sunday video! Not about perfection although I think I might, but about how doing something that’s been done before isn’t copying! It’s something super important to hear if fear is blocking you from starting something creative.
Ooh pps: Yay a yellow photo for my #chromatical colour challenge 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
