🍋🚨(Homemade) Blood Orange Tart🚨🍋
I did not want to let blood orange season slip by without having baked something with blood oranges, so I made this simple tart. It’s a pâte sucrée filled with blood orange almond cream, blood orange curd, and topped with blood orange suprêmes.
Though it was yummy and true to blood orange flavor, here is what I should have done to kick it up a notch: add some blood orange syrup or blood orange marmalade, as well as olive oil or a fresh herb.
I think the more intense blood orange flavor from a syrup or marmalade would bring a zing that the other tasty but tame components lack, and olive oil or a fresh herb like tarragon would round out that new intensity.
