Here’s my reminder to you that there’s a healthy way to lose weight and it definitely doesn’t involve starving yourself! ❤️*Swipe to see two more examples of why this doesn’t work* . I want to keep you from making the same mistakes I did when I was younger. Starving yourself all day only to binge later at night won’t leave you feeling good! Not to mention all the hormonal issues and health issues that arise when we eat too little. . Losing weight the healthy way may take more time but it will leave you feeling so much better overall! Eating in a slight calorie deficit while paying attention to the quality of our food, getting movement in, hydrating and picking up healthy habits along the way is where the magic happens. Here are my tips on how to lose weight the healthy way: . 1️⃣ Stop drinking your calories, aside from low sugar kombuchas, actually green green juices (mostly veggies), & high quality protein shakes. Aka get rid of the juices, fruit smoothies, sodas, sugary coffee drinks etc 2️⃣ Limit the processed foods you eat. 3️⃣ Add tons of veggies to your dishes! This will add loads of volume. 4️⃣ Make sure you’re getting an adequate amount of protein. This will help you feel full. 5️⃣ Add in some healthy fats. Fats are super important for the absorption of certain vitamins & important for overall health. 6️⃣ Find the right amount of whole food carbs for you. You definitely shouldn’t fear carbs either! Pick whole food ones like sweet potatoes, potatoes, fruit, rice & beans and you’re on the right track! . Basil and Hemp Seed Pesto Pasta! 🌱😍 Via @christinabedetta Recipe: 3 cups fresh basil leaves 2-3 cloves garlic 1/4 cup hemp seeds 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil 1/2 tsp sea salt Nutritional yeast, optional 8 oz. your favorite pasta, such as fusilli (pictured) Place all ingredients in a food processor or high-speed blender, and process until smooth. Serve with your favorite pasta, a plate of roasted veggies, or an open-faced sandwich! End of the week, quick dinner stir-fry of Mongolian Beef by @thedefineddish . No lie, this sauce is 🤤. # I received some shaved steak in my share from @waldenlocalmeat which is perfect for stir fry dishes. It’s already cut into really thin pieces, so it cooks up very quickly. (It’s also perfect for homemade steak & cheese subs when your not on the Whole30, but I digress...) # I rounded it out with some onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cabbage that I sautéd first and then stirred back in while the sauce simmered. (Stir fry is a great way to use up those random veggies you may have languishing in your crisper at the end of the week.). Since my Instagram has been absolutely inundated with carrot cake things for Easter, I’ve decided to join in by reposting my recipe for PROTEIN CARROT CAKE DONUTS WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING. 🥕🍰🥕🍰🥕 Give these a try (can also be made in muffin form!) and tag me if you do! I think they taste even better the next day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🥕 Dry: 1 c (120g) white whole wheat flour, 2 scoops (62g) @pescience gourmet vanilla select protein, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice or more cinnamon, 4 packets stevia or sugar 🍰 Wet: 1 c grated carrot (100g), 1/2 c unsweetened applesauce, 2 tsp vanilla extract, 2 tbsp coconut oil melted, 1/4 c nonfat Greek yogurt, 1/4 c almond milk 🍩 Frosting: pulse 1/2 c granulated sugar until powdered, then blend with 4 oz light cream cheese and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 💪🏼 Directions: Combine wet and dry ingredients separately, then mix together. Fill 9-12 donut moulds. Bake at 375F for 15 minutes. Cool completely before topping with frosting and some toasted coconut if you like. Store in the fridge. Enjoy!

🤔 Should we label food "Guilt Free"??.....⁣ What's your opinion on using the term "Guilt Free" when it comes to food?⁣ ⁣ Many people say that food should never make you feel guilty, no matter what it is, and to a point I agree... It's all about decisions and if you make the decision to eat something packed with sugar or not so good for you stuff, then roll with it.⁣ ⁣ For me when I think "Guilt Free" I think about eating foods that will help me feel my best. It's not so much about the guilt, it's about the positive feelings and energy I get from eating great food.⁣ ⁣ Maybe more "Regret Free"....⁣ ⁣ I love eating foods that I won't regret. Pesto shrimp with zucchini strips, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli rabe Toss brussels and broccoli rabe in olive oil, lemon, lemon zest, garlic, chili flakes, + salt. Roast @ 450 degrees. Sauté long zucchini strips on stove with a bit of tamari (my favorite!) Sauté shrimp with lemon + cilantro Add pesto on top and voile! Still drooling over this brick oven chipotle pizza that I got for dinner tonight. It had chipotle pesto, chicken, Monterey cheddar, peppers, avo and sour cream. But lowkey I don’t really like peppers so was pretty mad I forgot to tell them to leave them off🙃and of course, I had to try the sweet potato fries😏 . Salad preparation for the #liverrescue369 . This is option B with cabbage, carrots, asparagus, radish and cilantro. When it’s time to eat I just put greens 🥬 in a bowl, dump the contents from the jar and top it with diced apples. Very quick and easy once the prep is done.

It is really heartbreaking to tell someone they cannot ride the rollercoaster because of their size.. Food can give you life OR food can kill you slowly.. the choice is up to YOU! This past week I have been working at the boardwalk (to get our season passes) and I have been lucky enough to work the Giant Dipper🎢 as much fun as it has been I have also seen how many people suffer from obesity.. unfortunately many people were raised with crap foods, oversized meals & binge eating and as a result it has an effect on their environment & things they can do. So many people this week I had to ask to get up & leave the rollercoaster while the rest of their family got to ride.. I don’t enjoy it one bit! I can help you! I want you to enjoy family activities! I know it’s possible to loose the weight & KEEP IT OFF if you care enough about your own health!!! I follow a SIMPLE AF clean eating plan that doesn’t require cutting out food groups, taking a magic pill, or water fasts! CREAMY COCONUT GREEN CURRY ———————————————————————— Todays dinner was a mosh up of sweet potato carrots green beans broccoli peas multi colored peppers served in green curry coconut milk and steamed red potatoes. I sautéd my @thaicurrykitchen green curry paste with a can of coconut milk and simmered my veggies until tender. During this time I steamed up 4 small potatoes ( deskinned ) and added them to another can of coconut milk in the blender. Pesto Chicken with Colorful Salad 🥗 . . . Pregnancy is slowing down my cooking game these days bc it hurts to stand for long periods. So I made this meal super fast and you can too. Here’s how... . . The Chicken: Pan cook chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and coconut oil. Then, place them on a baking sheet and cover them in shredded Parmesan Cheese and bake 5 mins at 400 to melt the cheese. . . The Pesto: For this one, I dethawed some Pesto I made a couple months ago. Yes, make a lot and freeze it. Just blend 2 cups loosely packed Basil Leaves, 3 TBS EVOO, 1/2 C shredded Parmesan Cheese, 1 Clove of Garlic, 1 TBS Water, Salt and Pepper. Generously spoon this over your Chicken Breasts. . . The Salad: Layer Sweet Peppers, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Slivered Almonds, and Chives over a bed of Arugula. Top with your favorite dressing. Cancer-fighting, anti-inflammatory diets. These hit home for me, obviously due to going through treatment with Thomas. Through my education & personal experience, I’ve seen first hand the power of a nutrient dense diet in preventing & fighting cancer. It’s SO important. I cook a ton for Thomas, because I love consciously creating meals that are packed full of alllll the herbs, spices, & foods that have been proven to be effective against this awful disease & that also make him feel awesome. It’s insane to me the power food has in the prevention of disease, so I preach it allll the time. Typically, we both eat plant-based diets & our diets are pretty similar, although he definitely consumes more grains than I do! That boy can EAT. 😂🤦‍♀️ but I figured it may be helpful for me to not only show you my meals, but his meals as well, just as even more healthy inspo 💕 . . -wild caught Salmon with garlic, chives, turmeric, parsley, & dill broiled in a little @primalkitchenfoods Avo oil -a mix of sprouted & cauli rice -sweet potatoes air fried with herbs -arugula salad with peppers, microgreens, carrots, nutritional yeast, & a sprinkle of Brazil nuts (gotta get that selenium in!) -homemade tahini sauce (mixture of @woodstockfoods tahini, smoked paprika, @yellowbirdsauce hot sauce, @sow.usa Chia oil, chives, parsley, cilantro, cumin, lemon, onion & garlic, & ACV) Tip: if you follow a specific diet, to keep paleo, just stick to cauli rice!
