A break from the hummingbirds for a post as we did lots of other bird species too. This chap was a great favourite, the Blue-crowned Motmot. Such stunning colours and check out that serrated beak. Whilst not endangered the systematic destruction of their preferred habitat is an increasing threat. .
💡Since this was in an urban environment I decided that a headshot was the best option. So I added a 2x converter to the 500mm and used an aperture of f11 to ensure sharpness. I never shoot an aperture at the minimum I can with a converter as its sharper one stop above. Lovely detail from the EOS R sensor. .
