We’re so excited to announce that our next InstaMeet will be at Fort Delaware State Park! Located on Pea Patch Island, Fort Delaware is a Civil War prison which held close to 33,000 Confederate POWs. For the InstaMeet, we will take a special evening journey to Pea Patch Island to discover the historic and natural evolution of the Island, its history, and the stories that surround this authentic Civil War site.
Your very own DE State Parks marketing team is partnering with Fort Delaware staff to lead a trip to Fort Delaware State Park on Saturday, August 17 beginning at 5:00pm. We will take the ferry to Pea Patch Island, explore the Fort, and then end the evening with refreshments before heading back to the mainland. The fort will only be open to Instameet guests, and a Park interpreter will join us to provide information about the park’s natural and cultural resources.
Do you love Delaware State Parks? Do you want to experience the parks in a unique way? Are you interested in meeting other photographers and Instagrammers in the area who share your passion for the outdoors? If you answered yes, then InstaMeets are for you! Now is your chance to connect with other Park-loving photographers, meet the DE State parks marketing team, and experience a unique opportunity to visit Fort Delaware in the evening when it will be open only for InstaMeet guests. Plus, we will be featuring photos from attendees on our Facebook, Instagram, and blog as well as in future marketing campaigns.
We will meet at the Fort Delaware ferry dock in Delaware City (45 Clinton Street Delaware City, DE) at 5pm on Saturday, August 17. We will take a short ferry ride to the island, explore, and return to the mainland by 7:30pm. For one night only, the ferry and admission to Fort Delaware will be completely free for InstaMeet guests. Bring your own camera, a water bottle, and comfortable walking shoes.
