To all my mama’s, or mama’s-to-be, or women who need to hear these words today. ✨
We work so hard all day every day for other people. We may already be caring for little ones while simultaneously trying to nourish a baby growing inside us. Those tiger stripes, that cellulite, those hips and thighs and curves: touch every piece of you and whisper “I love you.” ✨
I’m not giving you another body-positive pep talk and teaching you to speak positive to yourself! Because that’s hard. What I’m saying is that we need to go OUT of our way, even when we’re in the middle of an “I-hate-the-way-I-look” meltdown, and look at the things we like in a new way. Because that thing you hate the most about yourself, someone probably admires. ✨
If it means stripping naked in front of the bathroom mirror: do it. Or throwing out half your wardrobe because you can’t fit into your pre-baby clothes: fine. We live in a world where the ideal has been set for us, and that’s not okay. Honour your body. Honour your pace.
