What’s in your salad bowl? 🤔
Anyone else ever think of a salad as a boring and non-filling meal option? Every once in a while though (especially after a weekend like st paddy’s) your body craves something fresh and “extra” healthy to help you detox. .
In order to make your salad non boring and flavorful you can follow the salad method. Step 1: fill your bowl with greens. (Spinach, kale, romaine)
Step 2: add some non starchy vegetables like (tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, zucchini)
Step 3: add starches and proteins like (potatoes, quinoa, egg, beans, chicken, salmon, tofu)
Step 4: the tastiest and last step is to add the fats (avocado, dressings, nuts, seeds) .
Here is the recipe to my attempt of the salad method:
Spinach as a base, sweet potatoes and carrots (boiled then sautéed), sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, 1/2 of an avocado, 1 hard boiled egg, a few dried cranberries, drizzled olive oil, and sprinkled salt and pepper. .
So quick and easy to make. I also promise it will change your opinion on salads! 😋
