Photographer @craigparryphotography gets us off to a wild start this week with a few of images of some of our water friends. Here's a deeper look into his art of capturing sea life 👉 "Working under and above the water is challenging and rewarding, whether its the extreme weather conditions or unpredictable animal behaviour, each time I put on that mask or jump in the helicopter I know I will be experiencing something new and inspiring. My strongest motivation for photography is to help connect humanity back to the natural environment one photo at a time." | #SonyAlpha a7R III | #BeAlpha

📷: @autpops "I was planning to only shoot the Milky Way when I set out for this location, but I soon realized after arriving that the winding road would make for an interesting foreground. I began to lose hope of catching any light trails, since it was midnight in the middle of the mountains and I hadn’t seen a car for almost an hour. Luckily just a few minutes later I saw the trees slowly illuminate off in the distance, and this single car rounded the bend to make my night!" | #SonyAlpha a7R III | 14mm f/1.8 | 14mm | Foreground: f/1.8 / 30 sec / ISO 1600 | Sky: f/1.8 / 15 sec / ISO 3200 | #BeAlpha

#AlphaCollective member @nyroamer shares this shot taken on the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls, looking down at one of the tourist boats floating in the rapid waters at the base of the Falls 😱 "Looking down at the boat full of tourists in rain coats, which appear to be so tiny in comparison to the magnificent falls, is the perfect scale. The swirling and dramatic rapids provide the perfect backdrop. I find the "focus and recompose: technique, can be useful when photographing in various environments such as this – this was a misty, foggy weather day, where focusing on the subject wasn’t as easy as it looked. I locked the focus on the moving boat, after recomposing, allowing me to capture the much sought after subject (which was the boat)." | #SonyAlpha a7 II | 28-70mm | 38mm | f4 | 1/1600 | ISO 200 | #BeAlpha

Brandywine Falls📍captured by photographer @andyhvu 👏 👏 “This waterfall is my personal favorite in Canada. I love how symmetrical, tall, and powerful it is. This was taken during sunset and there was not much light at the bottom of the falls so I was able to snap a 2 sec exposure without the need of ND filter." | #SonyAlpha a7R III | 16-35mm F2.8 GM | F14 | 2 sec | ISO 50 | #BeAlpha

Prior to it's release, photographer and #SonyArtisan @chrisburkard set off to the Kuril Islands to test the capabilities of the new #SonyAlpha a7R IV full-frame camera. We may be biased, but safe to say the adventure was a success 😎 • • "As we made our way to the top of Aniva Lighthouse, every room felt like it was out of Chernobyl, but the view from the top was spectatular. We later learned that some areas near us were potentially radioactive and marked off limits." | a7R IV | 16-35mm F2.8 GM | 16mm | 1/1600 | ISO 200 | #BeAlpha

🍰 layers or ⛰️ layers? We'll take both.. Here are some mountain layers captured by talented photographer @scott_kranz with the all-new #SonyAlpha a6600 APS-C mirrorless camera 👉 "Given the opportunity to test out Sony’s newest APS-C camera – the a6600 – along with two new lenses (a 16-55mm F2.8 G and 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS), I wanted to put this gear through the paces in an unforgiving environment. So, I took it high up into the alpine of the Cascade Range in Washington State. I instantly loved the new ergonomics of the a6600, as well as the increased battery capacity, which lasted our entire trip (an overnight outing) without replacement." | a6600 | 16-55mm F2.8 G | 41mm | F2.8 | 1/500 | ISO 100 | #BeAlpha

A classic photo location on California's coast, Pfeiffer Beach, captured by photographer @saltyandy_. Put your 👋 below if you've had the opportunity to visit this must-see spot before! • • "Coming here as a kid with my grandpa fishing I’d never think I would be back years later photographing the place. Over the past few years it’s became a hot spot, So I highly recommend coming early in the morning for that perfect shot. It’s a must see!" | #SonyAlpha a7 | 14mm F2.8 | F2.8 | 25 sec | ISO 100 | 10-stop ND Filter | #BeAlpha

Photographer and #AlphaCollective member @vincelimphoto shares this shot taken with the RX0 II compact camera 🐬 "There's something about dolphins that make swimming along side of them unlike any other experience. They'll swim up next to you, they'll protect you, and they'll take your breath away all at the same time. I had the opportunity to swim with this pod in Hawaii and I'm already dying to get back in the water with them." | #SonyRX RX0 II | 24mm | f/4 | 1/250 sec | ISO 125 | #BeAlpha

Shooting #astrophotography when there is a full moon can be tough, but photographer @tandytimes shares a tip to use moon's light to your advantage 👉 "Generally, you want to avoid shooting astrophotography when the moon is up. In this photo, I used the moon's light to my advantage when capturing the Milky Way over this high altitude lake. Using moonlight to illuminate an astro photo can be one of the best ways to naturally light a foreground and the elements around you are your best resources to sculpt your photo... Don't avoid shooting, you can always find a way to get creative even when the conditions aren't prime." | #SonyAlpha a7 III | 25mm f2 | f2.0 | 15 sec | ISO 2000 | #BeAlpha

Some butterfly action to help brighten up your Sunday captured by #SonyArtisan @carolinej with the new #SonyAlpha a6600 APS-C mirrorless camera. She shares 👉 "The a6600 was a pleasure to shoot with because it is small and lightweight and doesn’t compromise on tracking fast-moving subjects or providing clean images in tricky low light situations. I love the new grip and larger battery too! It’s nice to see a smaller camera that offers so many of the great features offered in the more expensive, full-frame models, like Eye AF in video and the intervalometer!" 📷: @autpops "The water in Northern Norway is quite cold year-round (it was 5ºC this day), but the staggering landscapes and excellent swells make it some of the most sought after surfing in the world. Up until this day, I never imagined that I would ever want to surf in frigid waters, but the thing that I love about photography is its way of changing your everyday perspectives." | #SonyAlpha a7R II | 70-200 F2.8 GM | 85mm | F/3.5 | 1/1000 sec | ISO 320 | #BeAlpha
