The larch trees only hold their needles for a short time once their colours turn so start planning your fall colour hikes now! Ask us for recommendations! A golden branch here, a yellow tip there - while not yet as bright as what you see here in @dani_the_explorer's photo, we are starting to see the beginning fall colours starting to take hold in #mybanff @dani_the_explorer has got some great tips for larch viewing in Banff National Park, so check out her post too and save it for later! Dani says, "I had great luck visiting Banff around the last week of September to early October. You can always call the visitor centre (That's us! We accept DM's too!) and ask for their estimate on peak larch time. Fall can be tricky to plan for! ⠀ ...There is way too much to see in Banff, and Alberta in general, so I recommend giving yourself a week. You’ll most likely want to do some hiking and will need a break in between! 5-7 days will give you time to plan for icky weather, too." - @dani_the_explorer⠀ ⠀

Coming back to Monday after a weekend of mountain adventures like... #mybanff 📷 @travisnrousseau Hoping to see some wildlife on your visit? Consider joining a local company, such as @banfftours or @banffadventures that offer wildlife watching tours. If you spot wildlife along the roadside, remember: do not stop your vehicle. Simply slow down, and always keep a good, respectful viewing distance.

Locals' Favourite Hikes in Banff National Park: #ParkerRidge | #mybanff Parker Ridge is a short, wonderful excursion into the alpine life zone, passing through lush wildflower meadows and quickly climbing above the treeline to a high, open ridge with a spectacular view of the #SaskatchewanGlacier. While many hikers stop at the first viewpoint, another 200 metres farther along provides the most rewarding prospect of the glacier and the uppermost limits of the North Saskatchewan River Valley. Always check the @Parks.Canada trail report for current conditions before heading out on any hike. Swipe the link in our Story for more Locals' Favourite hikes.

What would your perfect day in Banff and Lake Louise look like? It may only be morning, but @erikmcr "went canoeing on a perfectly still Lake Louise for sunrise, then headed back to @deerlodge_ll to grab a coffee and hit the hot tub for a little warm-up, all before 8:30 a.m." We'd say they're off to a great start! 📷 @erikmcr 📍 @deerlodge_ll
